Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this? I have an app I'd like to see about getting developed, I want it to be a source of traffic to my brand/company as the only one of its kind - but I don't want to lose my idea shopping around for developers able to make it happen.

    Any advice? Thanks, guys!

You just need to evaluate the skill set of the developer, rather than asking them "can you do this ..." After you find a competent developer with a decent portfolio, you will need to have them sign an NDA before any project briefing occurs.

Thanks, gentlemen (or ladies). I didn't even think about a NDA!

If you're really worried, you can also have the developer sign a non-compete agreement too.

I've contacted IndianBill - waiting for some clarification, as it sounds like he's a great guy to have apps done through, but he can also reuse/resell the idea after he's given it over to the purchaser. I'd at least like a few months head start to spread the word about MY version. ;-)

Non-compete agreement, I'd never even heard of that - thank you!

    Go search Wikipedia: Non-compete clause.

It?s not full proof unless your method/service/product is making a lot of money because serious cases has to be settled in court.

If Indianbill is not in the USA, the non-compete means shit.
