how well do .info domains rank for low/medium competition?
30k searches a month, 200k results, and top 10 results below 30 backlinks. what would you say?

Do you really dont have the extra $6 for .com?
They are rankable- but it will be slower with the same backlinks then it would be for com/org

.info do rank but pretty hard. I tried doing it and I have reached the first position but took quite long so I sugged you add that 6$ to get .com since you will rank fast and than will be making money for longer than .info

I have good results with info's but like others said takes a longer time than com's to rank on the first pages. Other than that the're pretty useful for me, I have around 4 info's and they all brings me bread.

They definitely rank. Just ask New York's Public Transportation Board.

But they may take longer to actually be indexed.

If you do this moderately then it sure can help, but don't over do it in a short time, you would want to avoid sandbox especially with a brand new domain name. And use various promotion methods not just two, also slightly change the anchor text from time to time so the link building process will look naturally.

I have waited around 4 months so one of my info domains get on page 2 with "keyword" i have the plural keyword domain "keywords" and i was building links pretty slow, like lazy. But with com's things move a little faster even if i'm lazy building links.

Don't worry about the keywords, a couple of thousands backlinks will get your site ranked well even without these keywords :)

With 30k search a month you should rank well but might take a little longer
