How well do romance or erotica fare in other languages ?

Did you try translating romance / erotica from another language to English or vice-versa ? How well did it turn out ?
I rarely see people talk about doing that "business" in other languages, and I'm one to believe it might be much less competitive to write in, say, French or German than in English.

Do any of you guys have experience with this ?

And I don't think the primary audience are guys.
The point of it all is to put into a story fantasies, fetishes and situations that are very unlikely to be replicated in actual porn.

I've seen this also around YouTube they've creating some erotic stories and stream it inside this venue to monitized.

In terms of translating, it's still good especially if you know how to twist and bring life to the story using your own dialect.
