Okay so basically I have a skill that if used correctly I could really be banking very hard off of. What that is, is that I've learned to use 3ds max very well(3d design and animation software). And even better I learned how to blend 3d objects(cgi) with real video footage and animate them. A little example of what these skills can be used for is the "mermaid in Israel" youtube video.

Do you see how many views this video got! just imagine if only adsense was enabled on that video that has more than 6,000,000 views. The lowest cpm is $1 so let's do the math: 6,000,000/1000 = 6,000. Which means the video would've easily made at least $6000 .

Now the only problem lies in my stubborn mind. I just can't think of any good ideas. I don't have a good vision of what kind of video has a high potential of going viral. And plus testing to see is really hard with this particular niche. Do you guys think you might be able to help.

I am thinking of a giant(1.2 foot) spider video. I have a 3d spider model that looks almost like the real thing with the hair and all that stuff. And I can blend it very well with the scene(shadows,lights...etc).

Can you make something like big spider gets angry on Spiderman, searching for him and spiderman get scared and call Batman and Ironman and all other *mans and big spider beat them hard and make them all together, in one scene, suffer in agony?

I believe you can do better with your skills than make a fake youtube video.
3d animators are in high demand everywhere, I'd suggest you try working for an animation studio where you might land a $250+/year income.

I appreciate your comment. But a $250/year income does not exist for a graduate student. I hear the average is a $50k. But if you can make $6000 with one video!......

Out of 200 such videos, only 1 will become viral and get so many views (if you are lucky). I have seen a bunch of high quality animations, and effects, with less than 1000 views.

I suggest you team up with game developers. Check out Unity3d forums. You can find plenty of teams that request an animator. Some of them are paid jobs too.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I agree but these videos were not actually made to fool the youtube community, they were made to show their skills only. I understand this skill should be used in a more stable way but for now guys please just answer my question. I will probably get a real job once I move to Canada but definitely not while I am here(UAE)

I thought about that. But right now I am really interested in youtube. I have seen some good results after a little testing.

If you are set on YouTube then jump in it and I wish you success. But I think you could do both at the same time without an issue.
Make a website with some examples of your work for future clients to see and market it to them. Create a LinkedIn account and
    start making that contact list.

then exactly why did you create this thread if you think you can
make the most on youtube. your title sounds like your looking
for ideas and you just want to focus on youtube

explain to me how a blogger can make $80k+ yr with a blog and
blogging is just writing while promoting whatever product or service
but an individual who has a skill that takes time to achieve makes
less. maybe the fact that the guy with the skill isn't thinking outside
    the box... ijs

To answer your first question, I made this thread so I can get some ideas for youtube videos. And not for ideas for what I can do with my skills.

For the second question, I already told you I am just a graduate. I need a lot of "JOB" experience to get supervisory roles or management positions. And blogging is a totally different thing. It all depends on how big your blog is.

And no it isn't about not thinking outside the box. My circumstances don't allow me to work full time with a big company. I am pretty sure those skills won't be wasted I will eventually get a job. Again once I move out...
