How tough is it to Change Registrars ...?

Hi Friends,

I've been getting ripped by "domainsnext.com" for prices on .com sites. The service is good when you register a name (fast) and change DNS pointers (also fast).

BUT, when it comes to getting questions answered, the dam company doesn't respond----WTF ?
AND, I'm paying $20 per.com sites...and i think that a little high.

I started with them many years ago---and back then their prices were competitive. NOW, THEY are charging $20 for renewals AND they got you by the Balls---sigh.

At this point, i'm willing to change,...BUT, i think it maybe tough.

ANYONE ever change Registrars....how much pain did they put you through?

Gotdayum....called again this mourning and these MOFO's are not responding.

Anyone help with this?

That site looks rough.
Never had a problem transferring domains, have you decided on who you are going with?
Once you have selected a new company then they should be able to help you.

Yah...i'm "86in these MOFO's !"

WTF...4 biz days----no return phone calls...no return emails-----NOTHIN!

(sigh)....too bad. I know the site looks like chit but i really liked the speed of their DNS server pointers. MOST registrars take 1 day but my experience with Domainsnext (*up til now") had been good.

Not worth paying $20 a domain when i can get one for $12 bucks (including whois-protection) with Namecheap.com. I just bought this one key name for $12!

Hopefully their service is good....?

Nameheap is good and offer the free privacy for a year, internetbs is good as well with free privacy.

I'm sure there are others out there aside from those 2 guys that are reasonable in price, offer good service and free whois privacy.

Every registar has instructions how to do the transfer from other registar and to their registar. But basically all you need is to unlock domain that you want to transfer, take EPP code (sometimes, like on 1 & 1 registar code is available in your panel, while on some registars you need to contact support) and follow procedure on registar where you want to transfer domain. You need to pay for transfer (usually price is about 10 to 14 usd) , in your panel you put that EPP code taken from old registar and wait few days, sometimes 7 days to transfer get finished.
I suggest Namecheap, everything is easy and explained in their articles, with examples and steps how to do it for each registar.
