In no way are keywords solely going to rank you higher in Google or Bing. You need high quality content, easy navigation..there's a lot more that goes into it. But having the right keywords put you in the right direction. A LOT of websites hide their keywords and descriptions, but some times your get lucky. You just have to keep looking I'm working with firefox, so I recommend using that. Step 1: Google search your sites topic. EX: online videos step 2: Click one of the top ranking sites. In this case, it's YouTube step 3:Click "View" on the top of your web browser, and then "Page Source" step 4: You want to look under the <Head> tag for <Meta> tags. It will look something like this "<meta name="description" content= <meta name="keywords" content=" Step 5:After "Content=" there should be a description listed. The same applies to the keywords. For Example, we clicked on YouTube and found this: <meta name="description" content="YouTube is a place to discover, watch, upload and share videos."> <meta name="keywords" content="video, free, simple, search, find, discover, watch, engage, share, sharing, upload, entertainment"> STEP 6: I would recommend writing your own description but the keywords gives you a starting point and you can even build on to these keywords. Again, not all sites will show the meta tags, so you will have to keep looking at different sites.
