How To Use TOR?

I just downloaded for the frist time the app and would love if someone can clarify some questions so I don't have to skim through the whole manual.

The application (onion in the system tray) says it's connected. I have the firefox plugin installed and if I click on it once in firefox it goes from red to green and says tor enabled.

Does this automatically mean that every application will now be channeled through the TOR network? Or do I need to channel each application on my own? If yes, how do I do that exactly?

You need a plugin for each application that you would like to use with TOR. If you have TOR firefox plugin then you are only able to use TOR anonymity in firefox.

You need to change your ip address using connection settings both in firefox and ie. for firefox you can use plugins to quickly switch between tor and direct connection.

look at information about configuring TOR. There are a couple settings you need to change in the config files to ensure anonymity. Use plugins to control in browser as these are easiest.
