You have to modify the url of your site through your phpadmin panel, look on wordpress forum with "how to change site name" as keyword or something along the line.

Can't believe I'm asking this stupid question when the answer is so out there, am I for real ?

I'm a little confused by your wording. Do you mean change the URL of your WordPress installation or forward a domain to your existing WordPress site? Both are very easy and I have to do them almost every day.

On another note: please watch your language. Feel free to say fuck, bitch, shit, tits, whatever but don't use the word you chose. It is akin to dropping the "N" bomb.

I think I have deciphered the terrible english.

How do I add a pre-owned domain name, onto an existing wordpress.com blog subdomain, and manage the redirections involved in this (without creating the death apocalypse of the internet)?

    Am I close?

Go into settings, and change the site url to the new domain.

Then in your hosting account, make sure that the new domain is mapped to the correct folder.

Or if you are using a VPS, you can edit the existing site to a different url.

And obviously the DNS of the new domain must match that of your existing domain, ie points at the correct hosting ips, nameservers etc.

DNS takes up to 48hrs to process.

    FPS

No, if I understand him correctly that is for your domain and all pages. But you probably have tons of internal links, like links inside your articles to other articles and those will need to be replaced. It is tons of work but Search and Replace will fix them all in minutes.
