What does it take to think outside the box?

People here, just like anywhere have differences. Different strengths, and different weaknesses. Some people are wired to learn technical things like computer languages/programing...etc. Others are more creative and can write like the wind. Some are self starters, and some do much better working as a part of a team being directed or guided.

But whatever you strengths or weaknesses may be, there is one thing that the most successful blackhatters will confirm:

For one to become successful in this field, one must continuously think outside of the box.

Is this a learned skill or naturally occurring talent? The good news is that it doesn't matter. What is important is that at whatever level you are at, you can learn to develop this skill.

As a newbie one needs to read about, absorb, process, and understand concepts in ones mind and become familiar enough with the individual parts that make up the whole of a campaign in whatever category one chooses to make money in.

So in the beginning a newbie should be on this board as much as possible, reading, and gaining "pieces" of the puzzle.

Clarification: In this mode one should not expect to find a super profitable method. Drop that expectation and you will free up the resources of your mind to understand more concepts, terms, and definitions. Additionally at this level, one cannot effectively "think outside of the box" very well, because the majority of information shared on this awesome forum is inside the box. In fact it helps me to think of BHW as "the box".

There becomes a point where a newbie needs to shift from reading BHW all day, to implementation of the ideas he/she has acquired.

This can be a difficult transition if you are a feeling based person as you are going from a habit where you have built up confidence, and knowledge, into activities that produce a lot of ineffective action, and less than desirable results. In other words when you start to put together a campaign for the first time one can be overcome with a feeling of failure, and think "this will never work for me".

Knowing this in advance can save a lot of despair.

So you go from being passive (reading) to active (implementing). It is only in this stage that you can begin to develop the habit of "thinking outside of the box".

In this stage you start to see things clearer. Before this stage it was really difficult, if not impossible to be creative about a process that you did not competently understand.

So one needs to come to the implementation stage before expecting his/her creativity to flow.

So the simple answer to the question, How to "THINK OUTSIDE OF THE BOX"? = TAKE ACTION.

By taking action you will force yourself to ask questions like "how can I make this work?", or "what would it take for me to follow through with the action I am wanting joe public to take?"

TAKING ACTION will enrich your level of competence hundreds of times more than reading will after a certain point.

The other obvious advice that has been given by much smarter people on this forum...DO NOT COPY OTHERS METHODS EXACTLY. It is a complete waste of time other than for the gain of learning that no success will come from it.

Be original, be creative, do the work necessary to become exceptional at what you do. Flowcharts are very helpful, inspirational, and will excel visual learners tremendously.

There is only so much you are going to learn from others for free.

Remember: NO ONE will lead you perfectly to their goose while it is laying golden eggs. :listen:

Very well said. Especially the 'taking action' and 'golden egg' part. I really need to take inspiration.

This post should be a sticky for noobs.

I don't think i saw it in your post, forgive me if it's there, but keep a pen and paper pad of paper and write down your ideas and thoughts. Don't do it on your pc.

Just wondering, any reason in particular not to write them down in your pc, and put them on paper?

You'll be more in-touch with your thoughts. It's a simple human trait that speaks to us at the deepest levels. One that can be traced back to the suckling of ones mother's nipple, or hearing your own name spoken. Writing your thoughts, and seeing them in your own handwriting (rather than typing them), conforms at a more primitive level. You're much more willing to be open minded and accepting, even creative, when you put it on paper.

Plus, it's easier to draw diagrams :)

Very good post I think it is important to learn to think outside the box.

I think it's easier to learn to think outside the box when you see a method that you would like to try that instead of thinking I'm just going to do this and do that and being totally focused on doing what the person who uses this method said.

You should start to work on it but without focusing 100% on what the OP said.

I support this greatly. Paper notes/brainstorming sessions/flowcharts are all more accessible when on paper.

Yeah there is definitely a creative flow that occurs with writing compared to typing or other input on a computer. I have to agree with this.

this post takes me waaay back to n00bland. Will be helpful to the new guys for sure. And he's right don't read too much, only read enough to give you some solid footing and knowledge to implement stuff on your own. You cant read everything in a day, its just impossible so take it one step at a time, and physically start implementing some methods.

I would like to add thinking outside the box has to do with the right side of you brain. when you meditate you are activating the right side. eventually your right side will become much more active through out the day, increasing your creativity.

Cool post; I can vouch for the utility of the pen and paper; scribbling ideas down is a MUST. As is taking a little notebook and pen with you all the time; I find that I come up with ideas in the weirdest places at the weirdest times...

    @Number101, I 100% agree with you.

When you are reading too much you are overloaded with information. Stop reading. Choose the method you like. Take an action. This is the easiest way to know if the particular method might work for you.

If you like me, your PC gets riddled with junk and finding a .txt file you write your ideas in will become a hassle (or nearly impossible). I can keep a piece of paper taped to my monitor all day :p

Yeah good point here. When you are engaged with your computer most people are functioning primarily from the left side of their brain and creativity can be stifled.

Even doing something as simple as just disengaging from your computer, standing up, and walking away will transition you into a right brain mode.

So meditation certainly puts you in right brain creative mode.

    Exactly ;)

AWESOME post. It's funny that i vist the forums after a few days and find this post. The last couple of days I have actually been taking action on a few methods i've discovered and thought of. I'm a noob to all of this and im so thankful i found this forum because If i havent found this forum I would've quit a long time ago.

This place is great. Great support from other people who've made thousands and all the free software and knowledge one could ever need. Right now im running a campaign on Youtube and im seeding torrents. Ive got some sexy videos up on you tube with a few hundred plays since yesterday(with my link watermarked of course). I havent seen any results yet, but I dont plan on giving up because the traffic im getting now is better than the traffic i WONT GET when i sit around and think about ways to generate traffic. Also with torrents, I've seeded a few torrents, one doing really well and has about 20 seeds, a few others which arent doing as well, and another i just seeded which looks like it will do extremely well for me since it already has a few seeds in just an hour or so :) . that torrent was my own personal file i wanted to share instead of finding a popular torrent and re uploading it.

Seeding torrents has been good to me so far, since ive uploaded 2 days ago I've gotten one person to sign up through an offer and get my password which paid me $15 bucks:cool:. thats not a lot of money, but the fact that it worked on a small scale is a good confidence booster. I have proven to myself that all of my dreams are possible and will become reality If I work at it hard enough.

My next step is to take on a google adwords campaign. I've been studying the hell out of adwords, reading tons of methods and creating my own by taking peices of everyone elses. I'm excited to get started on that because i believe that will work very well for me.

anyways good post man this place is great and i have everything ill ever need as long as i have this forum on my toolbar :D
