Any good guides on how to tell whether a wholesaler is legit?

Going to order some off-price stuff and just wanted to be sure I don't get scammed.

There is no way to guarantee you won't get scammed, so a small trial order is probably a good way to go. The benefit of a small trial order is you can see how quickly they ship, the item quality, etc. If you can pay via PayPal, that gives you some protection, because you have a way to get your money back! Good luck!

Haha, just look for the badges on alibaba. The more the better. Look for reputation.

They are not listed on alibaba. I am directly going to their sites to contact them.

Use an escrow like escrow.com. If they don't, then they're a scammer.

Start small then if they become scammers you don't lose much money. I don't think there is any other chance to find out if they are scammers or not. (Maybe only if someone who you trust suggested them).

The important thing here is to lose as little money as possible. If anything is possible besides checking if they are legitimate or not. As the other members recommended to you, first of all, see the superficial values that are disclosed in their own sales publications. From their descriptions, their main website, the quantity of products, the opinions of buyers. They are many factors. And on the other hand you could ask for a very small purchase to know if they are shelves or not. The fact is that it does not ensure that they can become one, or that in any case they are. So good luck mate

I'll invite @DropshipDave to chime in on this as this is not my area of expertise but I'm sure there are some due-diligence steps available for confirming the legitimacy of a supplier.
