    Hi All,

Anyone know how to tell if a popup is firing on analytics or some other tracking?

Theoretically you would think if you are getting 100 uniques a day- say to an autoblog -and you have popup that fires each time unique visitor views the page- the pop up should fire 100 times.

But Im still testing out pop ups on an autoblog- and would like to KNOW for sure that the pop up is indeed firing all the time.

Any ideas on how to track? Like Google Analytics or something?

    Cheers

    Dk

Im sure you could use GA to do that. You could probably incorporate some ajax into your popup script and have it write to a db every time it fired as well. The way I see it, something like GA in your popup could tell you how many times the popup actually loaded (ie was not blocked) and the ajax could tell you how many times it fired.

Never done that tho lol, just thinking aloud.

I would write a php script, that when loaded records the times it had been used to mysql or mssql and than pull up the page you are trying to pop. I am away from my coding pc right now but when I get home I will throw something together for you that can achieve this.
