when people search for my company (which is completely white hat by the way), or 'my company name reviews 'i am getting completely hurt by a google listing that is for consumer affairs reviewing a different company that is out of business and that was running scams or something. they have negative reviews and somehow (since i guess they were in the same industry) google has ranked it high, and when people see this pop up in google results, they go to read it b/c it seems like a very relevant page, but again it has nothing at all to do with my site.

    its a consumeraffiars.org page,

i tried contacting them to remove the page, all they could do was put a (OUT OF BUSINESS) logo on the top of the page. i was hoping maybe i could hire the worst blackhat backlink company or something like that, to get this one page penalized or hurt in terms of google rankings.

    any ideas?

Talk with a good reputation management firm before you go playing with fire. This type of problem is probably run of the mill for them.

ok, just so we are on the same page, this site and this google listing is for a different company. it just happens to show up for when people search for my company.

i think im already at worst case scenario with this google listing as it is number 1 for my company reviews, and number 2 on google for my company

Have you tried asking them to add a banner "Not associated with YOUR COMPANY"?

Your goal shouldn't be to get the page removed - but to rank other positive pages (citations, web 2.0s etc) concerning the company. Push that non-relevant result to page 2 or 3 in the serps and it's no longer an issue.

well i am trying that, but this one keeps getting stronger and stronger, b/c its such a powerful headline, basically saying stay away from the company you just googled and here is why. (mean while its about a different company), but everyone keeps clicking it.

This. Maybe create some social profiles for your company and try to rank them higher.
