    Hello guys/girls :)

So for the last couple of months I've been setting up my e-shop targetted to the UK market. It's on a very competitive niche but everything has been done in detail, at least on the on-page part.

Lots of products, descriptions, HQ images, cross-selling, related products, and all sorts of goodies one would expect from a neat looking website. I'm building this for the long term and I need it to be as good as possible.

Since I've done a lot of research on the subject, I found and registered 4 domains with the following characteristics :

    2 brand+region domains ( example : bmw-america and apple-europe )
2 exact match domains ( example : iphonecases and silentpcparts )

All domains fall into the medium-high competition mark, as given by keyword planner. Two of them ( 1 of each ) have avg monthly search traffic of up to 100K and the other two are 10K tops.

But they're all extremely brandable and there's tons of information for the subject, if there's need to create content for it.

My question is : What do I do with them?

I have already started building my PBN, as safe and legit as possible, with original content, really natural looking and with posts spread within every month and not too many links to my money site. I will keep adding sites to the PBN as fast as possible, while keeping the links on the safe end because I can't afford a site de-indexation. ( I've put so much effort on it over the past couple of months )

Are there going to be any copyright issues, regarding the brand-related domains? Or should I not be worried?

What would you do if you had such domains for the niche you are trying to rank? Is a blog(s) a good solution? With top notch content, product reviews, images, youtube videos and all that. ( Also thinking about a good social presence but since I'm doing it all myself at the moment, it might have to wait ).

Are there any alternatives you won't mind sharing?

    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi,

A few years ago I actually used to have a website selling iPhones etc in the UK market - which you used in your example.

The key is creating your traffic and sales funnel ASAP. By doing SEO from the off your guessing and will have to wait a long time for the results and then it might not work.

You not only have to get traffic you have to be sure people follow your sales funnel and purchase from your site and the only way to do that is test, test test.

So you are actually best starting a shop with Paid traffic, because you can do it quickly. See which keywords / sales funnel are working for you and then scale/do seo etc based on those results when you know it works.

How effective are these still? It seems like I've seen lots of domains without any exact matches out ranking those with exact match. Must just be the link building efforts of the non-exact match guys...

I don't know how and if exact match domains are really effective actually. I know they're not as effective as they used to be. From a search I did, one of the domains, with a different TLD, is for sale for 2500 GBP.

That's a lot of money for a parked domain. But I can't wait and see if I can sell them or base my strategy only on the potential of the domains. Something needs to be done/hosted on them, that's why I'm looking for something that would both benefit the exact match domain site AND my money site.

Is an Amazon affiliate site an option? With such a large search volume, if I could get it to rank it might be a good passive source of income ( not so passive since I will always be creating content but you know what I mean )

@ GringoMonkey I PM'ed you, if you have the time please take a look. I don't think I could be quite sure how and when people will follow my sales funnel ( SEO/campaing --> EMD Site ---> Money Site? ) since it's all based on the assumption that the exact match domain sites will be or will have to be "strong" enough to at least appear on their exact search terms. And this could be really hard and at the end of the day not worth it, judging from the very high competition on most of them.

    Update :

I have decided to run a full time blog dedicated to the niche of the money site.

Will add product presentations, reviews and general information on the niche, with tons of content. Aiming at 10K words per month, or at least 8K.

I'll also make a thread on the journey discussions, for the fun of it and to gather information and maybe ideas on how to make it even better. I am really curious as to how well it could rank given the difficulty and competition of the niche/search terms but I'm pretty sure with a decent keyword analysis it will be OK after adding content for the first three months.

Will update this thread with link to the journey thread when I open it. Thanks a lot people :)
