how to switch google analytics from recording your visits

    it's all in the title . i would like to stop google analytics from counting my own visits. what should i do?

    Follow the below steps mate:

    1. Get your IP address
    2. Go to your Google Analytics account dashboard
    3. Click on the Admin button at the top right hand side
    4. Select and click the account where you want to make changes
    5. Select and click the "Filters" tab
    6. Choose to "Add New Filters"
    7. Fill in the information on the new page


    1. Name your filter. I named mine My Ip Address.
    2. From the drop down menu select "Traffic From The IP Address"
    3. Fill in the IP address in the provided spaces
    8. Save

    This steps will help you to not counting your IP visits

    thanks man. only one problem i have a dynamic ip address:p

    I really can not get the problem,
    why you didn't simply remove the google analytics code?

    Maybe because he want to track visits !? Do you really provide some seo service?

    I see it now, you mean "stop counting your own visits from your own site, and keep tracking others"
    sorry I don't know how I couldn't get it :D

    okay you may have a few other choices if you are working with dynamic IPs:
    - if you have have an account logging in with it while serving your website, then you can add a small script, to check the session of your username, and remove the google analytics code in this case
    - another way "and may be more simple" to make a custom firefox plugin to disallow this script from your website, or you may search for some thing like that "I think you will found it easy"
    - another method is to fully disable scripts while you are surfing your website
