    I can't help myself...
    I'm obsessed with statistics... I check every account I earn money on at least every 30 minutes - sometimes even more often. Google Analytics Real Time stats for several sites are open 24/7 and the first I see when I get up in the morning. It doesn't matter if I earn only $10 a day or $1000 a day - I feel forced to check everything until the last details (speak of audience demographics etc). This keeps me from doing more real work and also keeps me from having a better social life.

    I use these stats to create my own calculations in excel to optimize things and try to make out patterns in advertisers tracking etc - it really helps a lot, but only to a certain point - then it basically is useless for weeks until I find another way to optimize because of the data I collected over the last timeframe...

    @Zwielicht maybe? ;)
    I know you got o a shit load of stuff to deal with too...

    Most "addictions" can be mitigated by getting more sex.

    I used to check my rankings every 10 minutes when I first started SEO.

    Maybe find some videos game to play or watch people play on http://twitch.tv

    Yeah, I brought this issue up on Twitter last month.

    I used to check the Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Google Adsense data for myself and my clients constantly throughout the day. I would sit there estimating how much web traffic the sites would receive by the end of the day (fairly accurately as well; there's always a traffic pattern), and then move on to reviewing any changes in the Search Console and Adsense. As you already know, it becomes time consuming and, as I said in that tweet, it usually meant I didn't have enough work to do.

    Just make yourself busy by starting a new campaign or putting up ads to find new clients. Whenever I get new clients, I find myself too preoccupied with getting everything set up for them that I don't have time to check my data until the end of the day.

    I have to check my blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen level. The excitement of these statistics is just too much.

    Then I have to go tap a hole.

    You kind of get bored of checking stats after awhile.

    I usually just take a quick peak every so often throughout the day.
