Let's be honest. Stealing a website is far more easy than building one. In your blackhatter career, you will probably come to a point where you need simple website that looks good, but that doesn't do anything.

The tools I like to use are:

    Photoshop
    Dreamweaver
    Editplus
    Firefox

Step 1: Find a website you want to steal. This is pretty strait forward!

Step 2: Go into firefox. Click "save as" and save the file in a folder (we will call that folder "site).

Step 3: Open that file you just saved and see how it looks. Very rarely, the whole site will be there. If not, don't worry!

Step 4: Find the .css file. This is where all the fonts/sizes/colors are stored. Some sites don't use css! They suck!

    How to find it?

Go into view->page source and search (ctr+f) for "css". Some sites have more than one. Let's say it's written ./template/images/style.css. It means you need to go to domain.com/template/images/style.css to find it.

Click "save as" and create the same folder names in your "site" folder. In this case it would be into site/temple/images.

Step 5: Find all the images. To find the images, you can use the page source, or right click on an images and see where it is. Sometimes all the images are at the same place and if you go to the folder for exemple domain.com/template/images you can download all of them from there.

You need to save them in the right folders and keep the file names intact.

Step 6: See how it looks. Should look pretty good by now, but you still have a lot of broken links. Go back to the original site and click on all the broken links. Click "save as" and save it into the right folder. Most of the time it should be into the main folder. Exemple: domain.com/contact.html would go into the "site" folder.

Step 7: Go modify the images if you feel like it with photoshop. Like the logo, etc. Then go modify the text with dreamweaver. Remove all the things you don't want like forms that won't work anyway, scripts, etc.

I know a bit of html so I like to use editplus to edit and dreamweaver for tables and stuff like that.

Step 8: Edit the meta tags and <title> if you want to.

Step 9: Make sure that the home page is called index.html or index.php. Sometimes when you click "save as" it messes up the file name

Thanks, it's gonna save me at least half an hour next time I want to steal a site

    It can be found here

    Code:
    http://www.httrack.com/page/2/en/index.html
And it's quite easy to use!

WIN HTTRACK is good... sometimes it doesnt get the whole thing... especially sites with external references. For those occasions try "Website Ripper Copier"... its a ghetto looking program that will get any job done.

Yeah httrack is definitely the way to go. No manual work just click and get the website and it also saves a ton of time.

Simply put, no. PHP is processed server-side before it is delivered to the client (i.e. a browser.) So unless someone's server isn't configured properly or they are essentially giving you access to download the unprocessed file, it won't happen.

There are a few sites I want to try this on and hopefully I can get the PHP files. Otherwise it is of no use to me.

What site did you run httrack on that allowed you to download unprocessed PHP files? Have you opened the files up with a text editor and confirmed that they are indeed unprocessed files or are you just assuming that they are because of their file extension?

I needed a fix for a script I bought and ran a search for a website running the same script that code was not bugged and downloaded it through httrack . Uploaded the PHP*code* yes it was not html it was code . to my site and worked like a dream .

Try following the instructions I gave and looking in that folder for a archive called new.

*sometimes I give out wayyyy to much information .. Now is one of them..*

You need to provide proof or it didn't happen. I'm pretty sure that you're mistaken.
