Hello BHW. I've recently started my own offline marketing business, I've had a lot of problem with productivity and I took the time to go ahead and make myself more productive. In this post I'll show you some of my favorite ways to become productive!

?Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs? - Henry Ford

First Step: I use Microsoft One Note, to write down my goals, write down an action plans, random thoughts, etc. If you don't have One Note, go ahead and get Evernote! I believe that Evernote is a free, I haven't used it but I heard it's good. When creating goals, make sure that your goals are realistic and challenging! If you've ever played World of Warcraft or any video game, you know how addicting completing tasks are. Why is it that they're so addicting? The reason why questing in that game is so addicting is because it provides a REWARD! You must create a goal, then give yourself a reward. It's important that you DON'T skip on the reward, because this will further encourage you to complete the goals you create. For example, if you make $500 go to a bar and have yourself a drink, go to a restaurant you've never been before, go buy a shirt you've always wanted.

Step two:Remove all distractions from your workplace. That's right, ALL DISTRACTIONS. What I've done is this, I use Google Chrome, downloaded BlockSite, and blocked all of the addicting websites. For example, I blocked Youtube, Reddit, well known forums, I stopped listening to music (which is a huge distraction for me.) Also, I set a designated time to work and I DON'T even look at my cell phone! In fact I SHUT IT OFF, my friends and family can wait! This also goes for Skype, sign off of Skype. If you're into video games, just uninstall them! I've uninstalled ALL of the addicting video games that are sucking away my time.

    Step Three:
Set a designated time for you to work. Sometimes we have to force ourselves to work. What I do is I set a time period from which I work non-stop with full concentration, this usually lasts 3 hours. This forces me to get things done, instead of procrastinating. Going back on goals, make sure you set a goal that you can accomplish in a short amount of time.

Finally, remember that Rome wasn't built in a day! If you're working on a project, especially a large one, realize that you'll have to finish a part individually. Never give up, be positive, and you'll be able to do anything you want.

Feel free to share your productivity tips!

Nice tip on the Google Chrome Extension. I use Leechblock on Firefox.
I wake up early.. The Morning just feels beautiful to me.. Nothing better than Hot coffee early in the morning.
    I use EverNote and Any.Do I like Any.Do a little better..
I use my Nexus 7 Tablet as my Task Machine. Thats all its really for. To take notes and mark tasks.
I take a 5 minute break every hour..
I take a 30 minute nap at the height of my day in order to refresh my self.
I change the quote "Coffee is for closers" to "Ice Cream is for closers" so after a nice day of profit I eat Ice Cream.

Thanks for sharing your schedule! I'm definitely stealing the ice cream part, since I don't drink coffee! I'm going to try to use a Netflix movie as a reward for me, or even a video game.

This is the toughest one, especially if you have a young one at home. Everyone has to be trained that when you're at work, it's just like being out of the house at a "real" job - make sure to close your door as a signal that you're working, and enforce the rules that you're not available when the door is closed. Not easy....

Like some of the other guys said above. Get up in the morning, get up early! Do something productive! It doesn't have to relate to SEO, or your job or whatever. Just do something, whether it's cleaning the house, or going on a run; getting up early helps get your day off on the right foot.

"The early bird gets the worm!"

Also, as he said above as well, turn off the phone; not vibrate, not silent...OFF. That way, when you go to pick it up and play with it out of habit, you can't. It's simple, but very difficult I've found. I'm very attached to my iphone 5 :)

    Step 4:

Pay someone else to do steps 1,2, and 3.

    Repeat.

I think most people miss your point. Its epic, ingenious and totally how rich people do it. We call them "jobs" like stocking the store shelves at 3am while the rich man sleeps after a hot night of sex and champagne.

Yeah, some people really do better when listening to music. It really depends if the task is repetitive or not. When I'm doing something that requires deep thought, music is distracting.

If anyone else knows how to become more productive, let me know! I also like what was mentioned above, about getting up early in the morning and doing something. It really helps you start your day off productive.

I stay productive by having a little break or listening to music.
