I see a lot of webmasters staying in Thailand for years, how do they do that without having to do visa-runs? You only get like 15 or 30 days if I remember correctly with a visa-run and that is not much.

How do you guys stay there for so long?

become a student. if you don't want to go to school, just become a student on paper. some visa company will help you create that kind of visa for you.

"Register a company, and employ yourself."
This might actually work. So I can form a company, take out minimum wage and legally stay in Thailand...
Any idea how cheap one could get away with taxes and all? I read about something like "203 baht per day" is minimum wage, anyone know how much I have to pay in taxes to take out the salary? Of course there is more costs than that, but it would be pretty interesting to know.

It's actually super simple. Just take a trip out of the country once a month to say Cambodia, Vietnam, Phillipines...etc. Once you re-enter Thailand, your stay gets extended for another month. I know two people that have been living in Thailand for over 10 years, using this method and never having more than the standard 30 day allowance.

What problem do you see with making the runs? It's the simplest solution and taking a trip to another country is as easy as crossing over to another state in the US.
