How to start social media marketing?
Open social media account and populate them with your content.
join social networking Section first :
You should start to create social media properties such as facebook pages / pinterest boards / twitter accounts etc. Pick whatever is reasonable to your niche and most important, interlink the social profiles to each other - not for SEO purpose, but for your visitors having the chance to see you're really being active in the social media. That's a perfect way to first of all establish trust.
For the next steps, hire someone (or do it on your own, depending on your budget) to keep these properties regularly updated and look legit. There's nothing worse than a 5 months old facebook page without any interaction or any news on it. Just fact.
After you've done that succesfully, you can start to run certain campaigns through your social media channels to collect for example an email list which you can repeat mail with offers in your niche / relevant to the topic they registered for.
Moreover, you're getting more independant from Google as you're building a brand, not just a SERP. Just think about any authority site in any niche, are they present all over social media ? Definately. Why ? Because it helps user engagement and gives your users easy access to updates / news etc. while not even being on your website.
Social Media Marketing can proove extremely profitable if done right. But don't underestimate the affords you gotta put in to make it work - it's not like setting up a 'news' blog on WP with some content feeds on it.
To start social media marketing you would just want to create profiles on networks where you believe your target demographic will be. Its probably safe to say that there are a wide range of target markets that frequent Facebook, Twitter and other major social networks but don't discount the smaller ones.
Once you have your profiles set up, you will want to share and produce interesting content on those networks to try and build a following. Remember that you don't want to do any direct selling or even hint at the fact that you are trying to sell something. People don't want to be sold and they will sniff out spam very quickly. Take the approach that you are helping them and focus on building a community.
