Hey, I recently bought a domain name through wordpress and am using their platform to run my new blog. I am aware that building the site up from the ground is a long process that needs consistent efforts of work to be applied to it. However, I have put aside for the moment a total of $400 to invest into increasing the traffic to my blog. Does anyone have suggestions on how to spend this sum of money to increase my blogs traffic? does anyone know of any services that are designed to increase a blog/websites traffic? i recently purchased an seo tool that i found through this forum! I am currently using that and will soon know how it is working for my blog, but for now does anyone have any other ideas? My blog is centered around hip hop and more specifically focused around independent hip hop artists or underground artists. Thanks!

I would buy some SEO services from the Buy Services Section here. I would aim for long-term results and working on authority to your website. If you have a working knowledge of SEO then you should invest in some SEO software and build links yourself. Be sure to build links to your inner pages and do keyword research before you write any posts. I wouldn't simply buy traffic if I were you because the goal I'm assuming is building long-term lasting traffic.

Work on the keywords which you are targeting, also track those keywords and do research on what is actually brining you traffic using google tools. Also look into the services which people provide here, start working on blog posts and backlinks to multiple targets to help you rank faster. The better you rank in your keyword targeting the more chances you have of increase in visitors. :) Goodluck

I would buy content

I agree. You can buy a ton of quality content for $400. Depending on what service you use you can get at least 40 articles. Target the right keywords and you will get your $400 back and hopefully some extra too.

That's a great idea, which reminded me of something similar I could do, appreciate your ideas! Also, your forum idea is an awesome one 2, I don't know of any hip hop forums, but I'm sure many are out there, and I will begin the search now! Thanks!

exactly buying traffic would be a waste of money and time, I need to build long term viewers of the site which ultimately is going to come down to building intimate relations with my viewers, thanks fo the tip on the buy service section! I will check this out now

First that you said that you purchase a seo tool. Dont use it if you dont have any idea how SEO works. It might end up destroying your site than helping it.

First generate useful content to the user. You can use media buying from other blogs, it can cause you $1/1k impression to your banner.

Buy 1 or 2 of the SEO Services from the services section.

Get PinPioneer and spam pinterest :D Trust me it works haha!

Buy some tweets for your posts from related tweeters on BuySellAds (You can get a 30-40k real twitter account for $29 per tweet, should get you a couple 100 visits)

Buy some ad space as said above from related sites.

so true!! I was thinking about the keywords the whole time and have started this process of research and will continue it, there are many hip hop blogs nowadays but not many independent hip hop artist blogs that have detailed articles with titles using keywords as "How to......" or other catch phrases that are constantly searched for in all search engines. I plan to design my sites infrastructure and overall content around keywords that will constantly be searched for in google, yahoo, etc. Thanks for your ideas and contributions to the hopeful future success of my blog!

Why buy content? I am an experienced writer myself, have my hands on high end video production equipment (for video posts on the blog), and have independent hip hop artist experience myself (considering I am one, who went through this stage of early career marketing difficulties) I feel like I can create the quality content myself, am i missing something then when you guys suggest buying content then?? I apologize if I am, and thanks for your advice. I know I need to learn more about targeting the right keywords though and getting them to rank in searches. thanks for your thoughts!

As stated before... buy content. Content is king!

Pay people to write quality articles, get pictures, pay to have nice videos created.... you can do a lot with 400 dollars.

It will help SEO, and increase the amount of return visitors you get.

Save yourself some time and go do a search at big-boards.com. They already know what is out there.

And I hate to be the only naysayer around but with all the algorithm changes going on with the big G you do not have a guarantee that purchasing 40 articles will help your traffic, although I do think it will. Personally I am tired of the rankings game and I am trying to get traffic other ways, mainly media buys, but this takes time to optimize and I am not convinced I can get as much traffic as cheap as with organic search rankings.

Is this $400 for right now or per month?

If it's $400 for just right now, then I would do a mix of:
- Written content, SEO optimized but human friendly (yes there is a slight difference in web copywriting principles for humans and SEO)
- SEO to your homepage and select important inner page(s)
- You could try an ad buy if you still have a budget

Do you make money with ads or simply sales? Depending on the answer you can either do ppc + seo or ppv + ppc + seo. Both ways are require a ton of work (research and such) but in the end the pay off is well rewarding. $400 can turn into $4000 really easy using some of the BH methods here. If you need more advice I am sure you can pm me and I can give you some insight into making "more" viable options for you on a ppc route.

1) If you are a content writer keep writing!
2) Buy GSA and SB
3) keep adding content!

Writing quality content takes time. By outsourcing it you can focus your time on other efforts like link building, website promotion, social media, etc. It also gives you time to branch your website off into other areas as well.

If you do need some link building software then of course you can spend the $$$ on GSA SER or UD but those need content to work as well. You can all do so many tasks at once and at some point you will have to considering outsourcing some functions or slowing down your websites growth.
