    Hi everyone.
I have posted a similar topic in the PPC section, but i only got one answer, so i will try over here as well.
Could somebody please let me know what is the most effective way to spend 10k a month on advertising a dating site. I will start my campaign in march, and i have looked into adwords and facebook advertising only so far.
I got an offer from an email database company 10.000 mails for 1000 dollars, they are sending out my newsletter (its legit of course, i would not do anything else). The audience im looking for is California resident age: 18-50.
Please anybody let me know any creative ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Im also looking forward to buying banner ads on good sites for good price.
I will also let everyone know how the campaign went, so it will be a good lesson/info/feedback after starting my campaign for everybody.
I am interested in anything basically, if i have 2000 registered users and i pay 10k a month i will be happy.
I am also ready to answer PM messages, so please do some brainstorming.
Thank you very much for your time!
I hope to be creative over here!

I'd say advertise through a CPA network. That way you only pay for sign ups to your dating site rather than just clicks or impressions.

    Dear Turbochargeman!
Thank you very much for your help!
Could you please let me know a nice CPA company or somebody who deals with it?
I dont know that how can they track if somebody has registered on my site because of a traffic coming from them...
I have no problem paying them for each and every user registered to my site.
    Thanks!

    Hello mnemonic9,

I would suggest not purchasing the emails if you have not already. Instead, as Turbochareman suggested, sign up with a CPA network. The problem is that even if the 10k emails are legitimate emails you are targeting Californians aged 18-50. Not only that but they should show some inclination towards joining a dating site. I doubt anyone can promise you all that for $1K.

With 10K I would spend 1-2K on website design, basically a sexy landing page (yes just 1 page). Next I would have someone write the salescopy for me along with a small eBook ($500 max, likely less). The purpose of the site would be to opt-in for the eBook (free even though I said salescopy). The eBook should be written to promote dating sites in general and have just one (REALLY JUST ONE!) innocent link to your site at the bottom of the eBook. The thing is that you already have their email. Next you can have someone write auto-responder emails (52 emails long, 1/week) along with prosmo emails you send out at least once per month (ballpark: $500-$750). These emails would be for info on dating sites but would always promote yours. Use the promo emails to rip on competing sites and show how your site is different.

As for PPC I would stick to $150/day. Comes out to $4500/month.

    Kind Regards,
    killxp

    Dear Killxp,
Thank you for your informative response!
I will do my best to spend my money evenly.
Well, everything makes sense what you wrote.
Today (like i have mentioned yesterday) i contacted 3 CPA networks, and actually one was able to offer me 2 dollar leads, so i only pay if the given individual registers on my dating site. I believe its not bad taking into consideration the 50cent cpc, so if every 4th person registered we are at the same level plus i dont have to worry about unsuccessful CPC/CPM campaigns, basically i "buy" 5000 users for 10.000 dollars.
Well, obviously first i will buy 1000 users and see if they are for real, i mean if they are really using the site, uploading pictures, doing the dating, etc. So i will be careful, but i think it is worth a try.
What is your oppinion about this? I think it is a good deal.
P.S.: The CPA would originate from one of the most reputable companies on the market.

    Please share you thoughts! Thanx!

I'd suggest offline advertising aimed at a California audience.

    Dear CLmarketer!

I have had really bad conversions so far with offline marketing.
Yes, i know there are two ways to do it: Good or Bad.
We have had newspaper 1 page ads, flyers, etc, conversion = 0
We ask our users where did they hear about us and nobody selected our offline methods.
    And i have 250.000 users.
But im curious, what kind of offline marketing do you have in mind?
I am ready to flash a few of my ideas if you give me some.
Its a long weekend, so lets go for it :)
