    Hi Guys,

so anyway. I have a VPS server from Xsserver and it is my very first VPS.

One thing i love is my download speed. So much so that i want to download all my tv and movies using this.

The problem is that there is no sound on the server and its impossible to get this working (it really is)

So the only option i have is to somehow share a folder where all my downloads go on my VPS and be able to access that from my Desktop PC and play the files normally with sound.

Please does anyone know a way to do this?

I have windows 2008 server and running xp pro on desktop

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You'll have to setup some kind of media streaming from your VPS.

Try Orb, it will accomplish what you are looking for.

install the free dropbox on the vps, do the same on your pc, and the files will be shared between the two.

Install http://anonym.to/?http://www.dropbox.com both on VPS and in your PC. Enter your Login Credentials in both location. Dropbox will automatically Synchronize files between PC and VPS. Thats it! :)

Edit : Good Job Jaerehan. You beat me in 4 Mins. ;)

You could setup a network share on the VPS folder and map it to your PC. Then copy off the files to your local PC to watch. The dropbox method is pro ably better unless you have too many GB's of data fora free dropbox account.

hmm, ok thats alot both of you.

I have got it installed on both desktop pc and VPS. However its not synching.

Is it to do with the location i set for both instances. i.e i have just set the main dropbox folder to be a random place on both pc and vps

ok ok, it was working fine, my apologies guys.

It was just syncing. and still it.

not a really good option for movies and tv i dont think. Takes too long to sync.

I wish it was as simple as right clicking on a folder and selecting "Share" :(

I also wish i knew more about networks :)
