I have a question regarding selling recently registered domain names...

I obtained a few valuable domain names at GoDaddy and I would like to sell them. However Godaddy seems to initiate a 60-day lockdown on new registrations that prevents transfers.

Is there a way around this, or do I have to wait 60 days before I can sell them?

    Thanks!
    BHR.

They can be transferred to other Go Daddy accounts, just not away from Go Daddy within 60 days. If you sell a domain simply get your buyer to sign up with Go Daddy and you can push the domain to them free of charge.

Exactly, godaddy doesn't let the domain transfer to another registrar within 60 days. But you can push it to any godaddy account at any given time!

exactly as the above 2 people said. besides, it's better to get the new buyer to sign up for your registrar b/c then there's no transfer fees.

Not just godaddy, all registrars, - 60 day block transferring out from the new registrar, (and as far as I know there's no way round it).

Most registrars allow the pushing.. not only PooDaddy. So to sell a domain younger than 60 days, simply invite the buyer to join the same platform and push to him, as long as there is agreement...

And for the chronicle, since the OP seems not entirely aware of it, the lock about transfers is not only for the first 60 days of reg but also for the last 30 before expiration. And it is not only GoDaddy's rule.. it is ICANN rule and valid for all domains (as far as I know all Gtlds and ccTlds behave alike on this, while they may occasionally differ for dispute policy and redemption / grace periods).
