    Hi,

I was wondering how I can effectively sell a very expensive product ( +/- $3000,00 ) online , and more or less under the radar.
It's a physical product, so it will have to be delivered as well.
The product is new, but comes with no papers. Hence, no real warranty either.
Not sure what to do with it. If it's too hard to sell, because there are no papers with it, I just won't take the product. Simple as...
But, if there is a way, I'm open to any suggestions.
    Thanks

What is NZT ? The products I'm referring to are linked with the world of photography and filming.

Warranty is indeed an important issue. But, I'm guessing there must be some kind of a "black market" out there, open for this kind of deals...

Why do you need a black market to sell photography equipment? Is it stolen?

Brearkthrough drug that hit the black market 2 years around in the NYC tri-state area, let's just say you know how humans can only use 15% of their brain? This allows you to use 100% of it.

PM me if you want some, though it's selling for $500 a pill right now, lasts about 6 hours.

Sounds like you are selling engines. I did this back in 2002 selling JDM engines from japan. Bingo?

Not stolen. They are sold at auctions, together with other products in one packet deal. I don't have them yet. I'm just checking what my options are

If you want to add some sort of coverage so it sells well, checkout Squaretrade. By far one of the best. You can easily f a k e a receipt online for purchase. If you bought it in the past 90 days, that won't be a problem. Check it out! Squaretrade is actually the official warranty provider in Ebay.

If you do not want to add coverage, not a problem. In your listing, simply say "Brand new item blahh blah for best protection of this item, make sure to buy a Squaretrade warranty". If the item is new as you say, buyers will be able to buy the add oon ST warranty. If you point it out, it shouldn't be a problem.

Be sure to put a return policy of 14 days. Although buyers can dispute within 45 days, if you put the 14 day return policy buyers will most likely hesititate for a return on the 15th day. It's psychology.

Ok, thanks for the info, mate!
But, seriously, do people actually buy things for $3000,00 online? I mean, chances of being ripped off are huge!
And what about my protection? For example, if I receive the money through paypal, and then I send the product out. I also keep a tracking number. But, when client receives the parcel, he claims it doesn't contain the product. As you know, Ebay always takes sides with the buyer. So, I will probably be asked to refund the client (or how does this work?) How can I prevent this from happening at all?
There's a lot of money involved, so I really need to be sure.

Yes, people will pay that much. Proffessional cameras go for that high. If your item is valued highly, you should do somethings to protect yourself:

    1. Ship with tracking number & signature confirmation (it's a must)
    2. Add insurance. The USPS has protection up to $5000.
    3. Have proof of receipt or something proving the value of the item. If not, then the claim will fall back on how much the item sold for.
    4. Take pictures of the item in the box, with a timestamp and take note weight in the box.
    5. In the case someone returns the item to you, and something is missing/broken/replaced, call the police and file a police report immediately. That's the proper way.
When the return comes, weigh it. Is is substantially weighed less? Call the police. Let them open it and they'll file a police report right there on the spot.
    6. Add a statement in your listing/description saying "if the item is returned, it will be thoroughly inspected. Proper action will be taken with any fraud/mishandling" or something like that.

    Hope that helps.

No problem! Remember, insurance reimburses you, not the buyer. Just for future reference.
    Good luck my man!
