I'm seeing printscreens with graphs that show you how many visitors your site gets, and also where those visitors are coming from, but i have no idea what tool should i use to see those stats. (a free one)

pls recommend me one.

Google Anal and Statcounter. I use statcounter 99% of the time and just use G to see bounce rate.

thanks for the advice, just trying to add analytics to one of my sites, but i have small problem. where should i paste the code they gave me if i want to track every page on that domain? i'm using wordpress.

there are so many. The best free it's google analytics. You can also try extremetracking.com

+1 for google analytics ! Or if you use wordpress you can get plugins same as statspress, good statistics plugin.

if you search google for google analytics wordpress plugin you will find lots of options to add it to every page of your site.

a couple of people have suggested to keep g out of your site and use statcounter or others.. what are your thoughts guys?

For wordpress plugins, there's a lot like web nin-ja google analytics.

Frankly, I'd stay away from Analytics unless you're positive your site will be squeaky clean.

You could try StatCounter. Easy installation through its plugin. Been using it for months and it provides good info about the visitors, much better than GA.

If you are looking for an open source alternative then I can recomment Piwik. It offers the same depth as Google Analytics does and can be self hosted if you choose. I used it to measure live reactions to tweets and posts etc before Google started including live in the results. Its a good alternative if you want to keep Google at arms length.

The thing is google can track everything you're doing online if you have an adsense account + analytics + adword tool + gmail + insights...

I guess they are quick at understanding that you're an IM guy.

I am in the process of disabling my analytics account. Don't want to make it so easy for google
