Never downloaded one before and definitely don't want malware. Are there plugins or anything that scan and remove any malware?

    Well there's this one:

However, you can never be sure unless you manually inspect everything. Even so it'd be pretty damn hard to find, seeing as one could base64 encode segments of code or what's worse.

How common is it for those null sites to put or have malware? Wonder if I should even bother.

Nulled themes are OK for testing purposes but using them on Money sites is asking for trouble. None of the scanners catch everything and unless you are knowledgable enough you are bound to miss something.

There are several wordpress plugin available to detect the malware or malicious code in your site.
TAC Theme Authenticity Checker - This scans the source file for the installed wordpress theme for malicious code. And it shows the path and the line number where is the malware affected.
Exploit Scanner - It scans the files and database of your website and it is able to detect if something dubious is present, But we should remove the malvare manually.

    Try virustotal
Using virus total can able to detect the malware by uploading the zip file of the theme and also the plugin.
It shows the infected file after checking.

One thing to remember don't use Nulled wordpress theme and plugins
Nulled script- The script with removed copy protection the one you don't want to use it on a real site especially in money site.

I just ended up buying it. Don't want to deal with no malware crap. Liked the theme. I actually just had my host tell me there was a bunch of spam/malware on one of my sites. I do some work for a roofing company and they hired someone to redesign the site. I'm guessing they used a nulled theme and that was the cause of the issue.
