    Hey!

I know its evil but whats the best way to sandbox a competitor?

Are there existing tools? I had the following idea. If you duplicate his content 1:1 and upload it on your own server 1:1 with an older domain than competitors domain is - who will get penetrated if the competitor has good backlinks? Because Google actually looks at the age of the domain and identifies the latest domain as dc.

    what do you think?

    cheers

Well, it's not just like that. Google indexing date comes first as consideration which one is "the original".

If I were you, I prefer to improve my own SEO rather than keep thinking how to take the competitors down.

It's always a bad idea to try to sandbox a competitor because more likely than not you will just succeed in promoting their site a lot.

You're better off simply promoting your own site.

Yeah man, change your mindset and start competing.

Start being Jesse James and not Robert Ford.

i would say "go eff yourself" would be a good start.

You should put your effort into better your campaign instead of being an arse.

You won't succeed in doing this. You may get your competitor in the sandbox for 2 months or so, but after that his/her site will just come back stronger... sandbox effect doesn't last forever. Don't waste your time... use it to make your site better.

Please, not one of those stupid threads again! Do you really think that you'll ever truly succeed in the long run with this kind of mindset? You should rather spend your time improving your skills, so that you can outrank and beat your competition due to your smart work. There are no short cuts to lasting IM success!

There are certain backlinking / cloaking tricks that can get the competitors site banned from google. No guarantees but if you can make google think that they are deceiving its users, then they get very harsh.

For example, making inbound links invisible, or making then look deceptive, i.e. having anchor text as a space or a full stop, can work wonders.

I don't agree with the moralising attitude and righteousness of some members here. I think you should do whatever it takes to be number one. I would expect the same of my competitors.

However, generally speaking, it turns out that it pays more to work on promoting your own sites than harming others. It's certainly foolish to build links for competitors, unless it's literally million and millions from an expensive automated tool.

I know that I cannot sandbox competitors which have tons of more backlinks than I have but this competitor here has copied the software and offer of a friend of mine 1:1 but packed it in another way. But product is 100% stolen.. Just thought there must be another way than stupid ddosing :p

    cheers

You should have mentioned this in your first post already because this is a new view of things. Read about what Micallef wrote in his post. Maybe you'll get an idea.

Your site presence can be manually increased by .... a bot with the task like:
    1. Use proxies
    2. Put your keyword to Google/Yahoo search field.
    3. Scrape the url to find your domain
    4. Click that link
    5. Delay some seconds/minutes
    6. repeat #1
You can check the result in your webmaster tool.
This method is suck, but it works.
