How to reset backlink profile?

Hi

I purchased an expired domain that has approximately 400 backlinks and only two different anchor texts.

This does not look good so i want all 400 backlinks removed because they are not of good quality.

How can I do this?

Unless you have dev access to the websites that the backlinks on, or can contact the webmasters of the sites in question and ask them to remove the links, it's not something you can achieve yourself.
 
You can try reaching out to website owners and asking them to remove the links, but this usually works for only a small number of them. A more practical option is to use the Disavow Tool in Google Search Console to signal to Google that those backlinks should be ignored. At the same time, focus on earning new, high quality backlinks so the overall profile becomes stronger and more trustworthy.
 
From my opinion, you can’t really remove backlinks from other sites, only thing you can do is disavow them in Google Search Console and focus on building fresh clean links.
 
First, audit the links and identify clearly spammy or irrelevant ones, and use Google’s disavow tool to ignore those links so they stop influencing your site.

Also, don’t just remove everything blindly. Some old links may still have value even with limited anchor variation. Instead, focus on diluting the profile by building new, high-quality and diverse backlinks with natural anchors. Over time, the profile will normalize and look much healthier.
 
Audit the backlink profile and create a file of low quality and spammy backlinks and simply disawow these links, but make the quality backlinks to keep balance
 
You don't need to remove it manually. It is easier to disavow the bad links in Google Search console and let Google ignore them. You can also build a few good, Natural links to balance things over time.

Removing all 400 links is not really practical , especially on an expired domain. Better to disavow the spammy ones and start building cleaner , diverse backlinks . A full rest usually takes time , not a quick fix.
 
You cannot delete backlinks yourself. You can go to Google Search Console and use the Disavow Tool to ignore them. Only disavow spam or harmful links. This is the safe and correct way.
