Hey guys, I am planning to go to Thailand this Summer and maybe take the next year to travel around the world. I've started to see some apartments and houses in Thailand, but what I only find is really expensive houses in sites that are made for tourists. Can someone give me a site where I can see houses and apartments with REAL prices? And what is the best zone of Thailand to live?

    Thanks.

you need to stay for a month to get good prices, easy to find where abouts do you want to go? I'm moving to china in a couple of months and jumping around thailand etc, give me a shout if you fancy a beer.
Not been to this one myself but heard its nice in chiang mai:

This one bit cheaper, less than 200$ a month:

I went here island not far from phuket, bit more expensive but was a office aswell all in with some food too:

Chiang mai is cheapest, only went there for 3-4 days but absolutely full of 'digital nomads'

Head to Chiang Mai mate. Brilliant place to work online .. The houses are cheap, the food is even cheaper, and there is a massive internet marketing community .. Granted a lot of them are youtube hippies, but there are still loads of likeminded people floating about.

Il be going in 2 months, and staying till the end of summer most likely.

We loved it out in Koh Samui and were going to move there a couple of years back, we were in Bangkok when all the unrest started and it made life interesting a little.

Koh Phangan is meant to be nice, but we didn't have time to go there.

My missus visited there a few years back and did the Basecamp trek.

She forgot to bring me a Khukri back though.

If i would plan it i would fly without hotel and everything. did it 2 times now and everytime i end in other part of the country and meet really nice people.
In my opinion its never a problem to find a nice cheap place to stay in thailand. someone knows someone who has seen someone that know someone who can solve your problem :)

Thailand is not as cheap as it used to be. You can still get cheap house/apartment if you are fine with very low quality everything. 12m2 room with fan and small fridge will cost you anywhere from THB2000 to THB4000. Anything decent for budget traveler will cost you around THB10000, but even that doesn't really get you a place where you would like to live longer periods of time.

It's better to look for apartment/house when you arrive in Thailand, it's easy in Thailand, especially in the summer time and also cheaper than you may find online.

You can leave every where you want. The apartment's price in Thailand start around $100 up to any place.

You can search some place you are going to stay and PM me I will suggest you a cheap apartment in location your choose.

Chiang Mai is a good place for digital nomads. It has a big expat community from what I hear. I'd stay away from the south and Bangkok for security reasons. There's muslim terrorists in the south and if there's a coup or riots they are usually in Bangkok.

Dude Thailand is dirt cheap. Dont pre book hotels are like 10-12 bucks a night. Take your time and search for the perfect spot once your there. Some locals dont post online if you ask you might be able to get a monthly rent of 80 bucks! believe it or not. Also Thailand has many beautiful spots all over depends on what you are into. I personally love Chiang Mai its beautiful specially when you can rent a scooter and get around everywhere for 5-6 bucks a day. Source: been there numerous times
