How to remove everything behind some character in all lines.

    Hey guys,

    Let's say I have 5,000 lines in txt file.

    Each line have got "?" character in it, I want to remove everything behind "?" in all lines.

    How should I do it ?

    the only way i would know of doing this is manually

    get a free lancer to do it

    Copy and paste the info into the first column of excel. In the right column put this formula: =LEFT(A1,FIND("?", A1)) then fill down and then copy the new values in to another column or a new sheet and paste special then select values and hit ok.

    I just tried it and it worked. I need an example then of what your lines look like.

    Can u explain it step by step clearly, I have tried your method but it gives same value for all lines. :(

    a simple function in almost any programming language will do it

    When you fill down. Start with the first cell and drag at the bottom right corner when you get the crosshair and pull down

    Just import into excel, with the ? as your deliminiter
