It's so annoying.. I've been trying for 2 hours already to remove the links that are on my blog pointing to wordpress. The plugin link theme link supportlink etc.

I want to remove those, as well as archives but i cant find it anymore. ben googling and shit and it really pissing me off.

I hope someone here can help me.

Are you using a free wordpress blog hosted at wordpress.com ? If so I don't think you can.

If not, go through all your sites files doing ctrl+f for wordpress.org and just delete all the links.

Well, I don't really completely understand what you mean exactly. However, if you want to remove links in the footer or header (If you're using wordpress.org instead of .com), you would edit header.php and footer.php and scan and delete the code accordingly.

Hope I could help!

Maybe if you provided the url I could help you out a little better. :)

footer.php and sometimes functions.php depending on theme.
If all else fails, download all php files and search for the "powered by" or whatever it has, in the code.

No I mean in the sidebar, im using flexsqueeze on my own domain not a free host. And now I got my right sidebar like this:

blabla bla
blabla bla
blablabla

november 2011

documentation
plugins
suggest ideas
support

and a few more links pointing to wordpress. The november is pointing to archives. I want to remove both, so i just will see the blablabla

Allready done that, there is nothing in my widgets lol. Also checked the sidebar.php but cant find anything there as well that looks like an url

You might need to put something else in your widget area, the theme could be showing the default sidebar layout when no widgets are added.

on your dashboard go into links and remove tick or whatever

This works for *most* themes, i've only used a couple that it failed with...

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/customize-meta-widget/

Install and then edit the plugin files through your Plugin status menu.
Like, look at your list of plugins and hit edit...

Deactivate | Edit

Just remove the lines you want to remove, no need to touch the actual theme files.

If you can't remove the links from your theme, they may be in your blogroll. Check your Admin CP --> Links --> All links.

Download the whole style folder to your desktop, install and open a blank Notepad++ page, press CTRL+F, press Find in Files, point to the style folder, type "Powered by" or "wordpress.com" in the Find What field then press Find All. All matches are displayed at the bottom, double click each of them, edit out then press CTRL+S on each file tab, re-upload the files.

Those are probably the default links, just delete them.

I finally got rid of the archives and links by putting in a custom made menu. Tho, there is still categories now and now its showing my links to the posts 2 times. In categories and in the custom menu. So I want to remove the "category" so the links will be there only once, anyone knows how to do that?
