How to register .co.uk/.org.uk without getting asked for verification from nominet?

It seems that as of recently, all registered .uk domains go through some sort of verification with Nominet. I don't know how or what method they use, but I used my real information and was told they couldn't verify it and I needed to send in a scanned copy of ID.

Does this make it impossible to have totally anonymous *.uk domains? It's not possible to have your name hidden on the whois, and apparently now you have to have a valid name/address.

The question is, can you just use a random person's information and have it pass verification? Or does anyone know?

I used random info in the past for uk ones. No issues then.
