Sorry for the caps in the title but I'm struggling with this problem for weeks. What makes a good expired domain? From what i've read you must consider the metrics but most important is the backlink profile. I managed to find expired domains with high metrics (TF 20+ DA 20+ RD 30+, 20+ backlinks with TF 10+) What i dont understand is why domains with weak backlinks like directories or pages with hundreds of OBL have same or higher metrics than domains with backlinks from PR 2+ pages and less than 10 OBL. What is a good backlink profile? afaik the backlinks must be TF 10+, must have low OBL, must have backlinks of their own, must not be blog comments or directories and optional, must have PR. Am i right or not?

The first thing you need to recognize is the search option cus there are numerous threads on how to select the good expired domains

I'd say the keys are look at the metrics (PA, DA, TF, etc) to see what needs to be reviewed further. Then dig into the backlink profile. Does it have links from authoritative sites? Is there any spam in the backlink profile (i.e. someone has gotten to it since the original owner dropped it)? Overall, I like to look for natural backlink profiles. Comments are fine, but they should be all there is or the majority of links.

yes they are spam free, mostly what i find is domains with backlinks from directories and pages with many OBL but they seem pretty natural, i mean if its a directory backlink and the site is in the computers niche then the backlink is in the computers category of the directory or if its on a page with many OBL, that page even if it has many OBL is niche relevant, for example /parteners or /links pages

Look there is no specific metric which will tel its a good domain. Personally i never go with domain having backlinks from directories.
