How to rank youtube videos ?

Optimizing your title and description with your targeted keywords helps.

But creating a video that people want to watch and forward to their peers will help much more.

i guess build backlinks on them..

also you need to increase the views...

exactly.. both of the guys that have replied are on the right track..

Optimize title, description, and tags. Put all your KWs in tags. Description should have the keyword 4-5 times used intelligently. Should not look spammy to the average user. Give some views and likes using sites like vagex and u2bviews. If you have a less competitive niche, this should be enough. Otherwise, you'll need social signals (twitter retweets, facebook likes, google +1s and such).

>buy shitloads of retention views
>go to addmefast
>use an imacro bot
>get shitloads of likes to your video
>buy custom comments

Yeah man, there's a wealth of info here on the forums. We can't just spoon feed everyone. I wasn't spoon fed. So in my opinion, no one else should be either. You gotta put in work! And read read read until your eyes start to burn!

Theres more to ranking vids than what you have read here.

You are right ! I should read though the forum and see if i find something :)

i was reading on another forum dont know it works or not

"xrumer blast are now best for youtube ranking"

Wrote this awhile ago. Still mostly relevant.

Step 1: Find the Right Keyword(s)

You know your market and what people type in. Test out a few keywords by searching for them in YouTube and Google, and seeing what kind of results show up. In YouTube, things to pay attention to are the age of the video and the number of views. Look at their title and see what else they could be ranking for. In Google, see if they?re showing the videos in the results for that keyword.
Step 2: Make the Video and Optimize

Title ? Use your main keyword first. Try and fit it in twice without making it sound stuffed in there. Also, consider a title that would increase clicks. Think ?Free, Tutorial, Learn, Guide, Never Before Seen, etc.?
Description ? Use your main keyword first, followed by a link to your site. Be sure to use the http:// so it becomes click-able. Write a few (at least 2) paragraphs about the video using your keywords, related topics, and some decent readable content.
Tags ? Go to the number one ranking video for your main keyword, and copy their tags. Add in any others that you feel were left out. These are simply related terms or keywords that your video is about. If YouTube suggests some, add the ones that make sense. 10-20 is a solid amount.
Category ? Choose what fits your video best.
Video Thumbnail ? Once you?re a partner, you can choose your thumbnail from the video. Until then, just choose the most enticing of the 3 images that you think will generate the most clicks.
Settings ? Make It Public, Standard YouTube License, Comments On, Comment Voting On, Video Responses On, Ratings On, Embedding On, and Syndication On
Geo-Location Settings ? Mark where the video is made, especially if it?s a local market. It won?t hurt rankings, even if you?re going after national keywords.
3-D Video ? I have no idea?
Captions ? Use these. They are a great place to have the keywords that are said in your video or typed on the page. YouTube is pretty good at pulling out the words with clear speech, but it would be best to go over them, and make sure they?re all right.

Step 3: Marketing The Video

1. Upload the video to YouTube with a link to your main website.
2. Embed the video on your site. In a random blog post, or wherever.
3. Upload the video to all the other video directories, with a link to the YouTube Video* (yes, the YT Video)
4. Social Bookmark The YouTube Video on Digg, Reddit, StumbleUpon, and as many others as possible. Write a quick description.
5. Social Media ? Link the video on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+. Encourage your friends to do the same.

i will make it to 1# for your keyword on youtube just pm me i have a solution thank you

HAHAHAHA. at least you're at the right place! I have been using GSA with no filters on YT and it has been working well...

I agree, I uploaded three similar videos for fun in a medium-competition niche and bought views on one, likes on one, then ran GSA on some - and of those three the GSA videos now rank the best around a month later.

As for marketing the video, you don't think that building other links will be useful? Best case scenario is to actually rank the YouTube video in Google for the keyword as well as your own site (YT vid first more than likely). Therefore, would it be useful to do web 2.0 + other links to the YT vid?

I guess what I'm trying to say is that this strategy seems good for improving YT rank when people search through that site, but it could be more lucrative if you went the route of ranking in Google. Thoughts?

from own experience i tell you that "audience retention" is most important
