How to rank locally on SERP

    Are there any tips on how to rank your website for a particular country? any info would be much appreciated. thanks

    Host your website in the country you're targeting and then the rest is normal.

    oh my.. too bad i already bought hosting from hostgator..

    That's sertainly not true. I rank first in my country with hostgator using normal SEO tactics.

    Once you add your site to Google WebMasterTools, then you can go into settings and select a geographic target, this way you're letting big G know what geographic area you are targeting. This is just one of many things you could do. But general SEO rules still apply.

    So it does not matter whether i for my website plop on a geographic location? In terms of seo? As long as my general seo is good i should get where i want? Sorry new to this!!

    the "host it in your country" is BS.
    I have websites hosted with hostgator and I am from Romania, and most of my sites have awesome ranking.
