Is it possible to rank for multiple keywords? If so how? Does it mainly depend on the content of your website whether they have the keywords in it or not and the amount of backlinks?

    Thanks

    Of course!

It just means writing content on your site that has all the keywords in that you want to rank, then building links with the anchor text being whichever keywords you want to rank for.

I good way to rank for multiple keywords is having a main keyword you want to rank for, then using variations off that keyterm.

    i.g
    Main:
    Designer Sunglasses
    variations:
    Cheap Designer Sunglasses
    Designer Sunglasses online
    Designer Sunglasses USA
    Designer Sunglasses frames
    Designer Sunglasses shop

    etc, etc.

Content pretty easy to write like this, get some nice long tail ones ranking easy, go out building links to those keywords, each keyword backs up the main one as it has it in it, and when you start ranking well for these varitions you will find you will get traffic from varitions that you never target. Google will see your website as an authrority and very relevent for those terms so you will get keyword cross overs in the serps. I've found this using google analytics.

And you can of course rank for different unrelated keyterms for the same page, buts its just harder, will need more content, link building and more work.

Eh you can. But is better to make groups of same keywords. And it will be necessary to buy links for all the keywords.

Alright thanks, in order to rank for a keyword though do you need to have anchor text for each keyword you want to rank up?

I rank for some unexpected long tail phrases that I did not even build links for. Stuff I put in Italics and link to other pages on my site and phrases above paragraphs I bolded or put into <h2> or <h3> tags. But once I see someone got to my ste with a longtail keyword I start building links for that phrase.

But Milin is right; I build links with anchor text to ALL of my keywords in my metatags.

you build links exactly the same as your main keyword. .

    Anchor text with other keyword

also you can create a new page e.g

    yourwebsite.com/keywords.html

And build links to that page
