I am paying good money to have unique content written for my website. Are there any suggestions on how to protect it? copyscape is good to determine if your content is unique or not but doesnt do much for protecting it. Any suggestions.

There will always be content thieves out there, luckily, if their scraping blogs for content, then they are usually too lazy to do SEO. Typically you don't need to worry about scraper sites outranking you for your own content. Here are some steps you can take

1.) Add affiliate and cpa ads to your feeds with a wp plugin. If they are using some feeds, they'll probably start publishing your CPA offers on their websites.

2.) Do some good interlinking. This way, if they scrape your site and do not pull out the links, they will more than likely be doing some deep linking for you.

3.) File a DMCA if they are stealing your content.

4.) Report them as spam to big G.

5.) You can disable right click, but this usually won't stop much as most people do not manually grab content anyhow.. And anyone that knows CTRL + U can get to your source code anyhow.

6.) If it's the same person scraping you could try and ping their site and get their IP and block that IP. This will help if they are using cron jobs to scrape I believe. Similarly you could track users and see if you can get the user IP too.

7.) You could try and maybe do a redirect based on referrer if it's the same asshole scraping you over and over. This way, if he visits his site and goes to your site afterwards he'll get forwarded to wherever you want to send the douche.

Probably some more good ways as well..

I think there's a script available some place where you can disable the right click option so people would not copy content.
I think It's allready in place with sites like thesun, correct me if I'm wrong but it might be decently effective against right click simple copy and past.

If your in the U.S., the second your writing is posted for the public to see it becomes your copyrighted work. Regardless of whether you say "copyright 2011" or whatever, it's still under your copyright. Basically, you could sue if you wanted to, and you would most definitely win. Teach that thief a lesson.
