    Hello everyone.

I've been running a strictly whitehat business selling fashion and gifts, since 1998. it's a super niche site that have a great reputation, and great product qualities in it. I won't disclose it here or elaborate it more, but suffice to say that I'm more of a programmer and designer, than a marketer. So our business have never taken off to rake in at least 6 figures of monthly sales. It's doing 5 figures at the moment, but then our overheads are really high as well.

I've slacked off over the past 5 years with a lot of distractions, and really believe that I can really soar up this business, if only I have the proper techniques and footnotes to follow through, with getting traffic, and increasing the search radius of our niche via new keywords.

Hence I'd like to ask for some advice here..

I would like to properly optimize the categories and not the products. And each category have, from 1 to 20 pages. I can also create landing pages on a whim.

Due to the nature of our niche, I firmly believe that our title needs to be attractively human readable, that gives people an impulse to click on it, rather than keyword stuffing it to hell.

cosplay fashion -when you want to spank the monkey
japanese cosplay :: Naruto would be ashamed of you
chunglee costume :: dress sexy for this halloween, or for kinky sex!
    -instead of -
    cosplay,japanese cosplay,chunglee,anime fashion

So let's say I have 300 categories, averaging 3000 potential content pages... do I have to do 3000 contents (or write 3000 articles? with about 1/10 of it simiar content, due to similar keywords?), and 3000 linkbuilding process?

With regards to the link building process, I'd die if I do the traditional site: keywords and contact each webmaster. What would then, be a good way to generate backlinks, THAT ARE NOT PENALIZED by the search engines, and that are PERMENANT or have a lasting effect?

For example, a few threads down you were discussing about 30 minutes to get pr 5 and 7 backlinks, is this safe, from a pure white-hat point of view? If it is safe, then are there other similar techniques that all of you can recommend? I'm basically glancing at every thread here past september 2007...

So now since I have a plan set in stone to do this, what about the speed of backlinks? Google would punt me out, if I suddenly develope massive backlinks towards my site. So how should I go and develop it?

I have another question with regards to google image search, that I'll paste in a new post, as it's not quite related here...

Any help/advice, mentoring process, blueprint that you guys/gals can supply, will be much, much appreciated!

    {Edit}

I also have a lot of search terms, that I'd like to create landing pages for as well. 3 to 4 years worth of user submitted search terms. I'd like to create them like www.site.com/search/keywords.html

Am I being overkill in this process? How should I auto-generate the contents, for these types of pages?

Adding another post here, because I really can use your help on this. Am I asking for too much information all at one go? Should I split them up into subtopics?

Okay.. in this case can anyone suggest to me, how I should break down my questions? I think there's too many generalized questions here putting everyone off.

Some of you must own sites that are selling 1000+ products.. and with those 1000+ you get 3000 keyword spinoffs. How do you optimize that many keywords? What blueprint do you use?

That is quite a massive site/information to deal with.

What kinds of backlinks do you currently have? Has your site been socially bookmarked?

    Articles are definitely great.

Have you done an official or recent press release of any kind on your company? If you've been there for 10 years that is a good milestone celebration.

    Is there a company blog?

Is there some way you could produce a simple unique video with the products in it or being used that could be submitted to video sites?

Personally, I think the press release with the announcement of 10 years in business would probably give you a nice push.

    twinkletoes thanks for your comment!

I haven't bookmarked us yet. With bookmarking it's the same thing. Do I spam bookmark sites, 1000 times, with 3 keywords tags each? I am considering Oracle's bookmarking service for this section.

I think we're too niched to do press releases. If we press release it, don't think anyone would care at all..

For blogging, finding 2 prospective candidates to help us with our blogging platforms. Should have it up in 1 month, as we have to design the blog too.

Videos are in the plans, but wouldn't have amazing videos (we're hiring models, writing scripts for part of our product lines, etc) until 4 months later, as we have so much crap to do, and company wouldn't allow me that much time to experiment with it, yet.

A question with regards to press releases, can I do press releases for holiday sales and such? For example a back to school press release, but what the hell can I write about? What our company offers?

Also. My ultimate, ultimate goal is to attract fashion, lifestyle blogs to write about us. I hate the idea of going to payperpost and buy up blog reviews in chunks of 50-200 bucks. I'd rather contact the blog owners themselves to entice them to write about us. I can give them samples of our stuff, or pay them to use our images in their posts. However I don't have an efficient method of researching for, and reaching these types of blogs.

You are going to need a description . product title in each page name (using rewrites), page title and big tags. I would also break down categories using directories , again with rewrites.

    So -

    snackfoods/potatoebased/luxuryPotatochips/MrChipsBestCrisps-1000boxes-bulk.html

Make everytihign important have a "crumb trail". Then you are helping visitors, which helps Google wise. Well, at least it works for me.
