How to promote VPN service as an affiliate?

Hello everyone

I got accepted in NordVPN affiliate program, but I'm a bit lost about how to promote their VPN service, I've created an informative article on my website about VPN (1500words article), but I've noticed that all keywords that concern VPN are very competitive keywords, so I was wondering if there is a way or ways to promote the VPN service.
Because I know that there are many people that promote VPN services from different companies, and I don't see how everyone can rank on the first page of google.

So, do you guys know any effective way to promote NordVPN and generate some leads, please?^^

Why did you apply in the first place of you don't have a traffic source
You can't use SEO to promote VPN affiliate, it's a very competitive niche, except if you have a way around it
You can try to find Nord VPN discount, then share in Facebook and any other social network

The way how I'm promoting it is through widget in the right side of my website
