How could I promote my friend's folk music? He's very talented and he can play many instrumentals. I wanna support him because he suffered a difficult life (broke up with gf, crashed car, no job).. If you want to check his blog and his music then PM me and help him, please. I feel very sorry for him. Thanks.

You can rank him in YT.
Buy some Fiverr gigs with views, comments etc and send links to the vid.

Soundcloud is proving to be an irreplaceable source of traffic for music promotion right now. That along with youtube and every other popular social network out there right now. Go for the underdogs as well, they are much easier to spam without getting caught, think viddy for instance.

    Why?

The question sounds dumb, but the reason for promoting his music will dictate the best way to market him.

Does he do gigs? If so, where. You want local social media likes and so forth. Does he sell his music? CD's/iTunes? Then the world is your oyster. Loads of methods already suggested above.

Or do you just want to get him more traffic to his blog to cheer him up as he checks his stats? Then buy him cheap traffic ... a couple of Fiverr gigs should sort you out.

Music blogs. YouTube. Facebook. Twitter. Purevolume. Noisetrade. Soundcloud.

Just search the forum, it's not hard.

Not sure off the bat what this is doing in the BH forum, but anyway... create some videos and put them on Youtube. Give him an official FB fan page and see if you can book him some gigs which can be promoted on the above sites as well as on Twitter. Also, ask him. It sounds odd, but if he's in the middle of a tough time he might not exactly be thrilled at having his work promoted online without his permission.
