how to promote a website on your subreddit

Use automod to automatically post and sticky a comment to every new thread.

Ideally something like;

Here are some of the rules of the subreddit {rule1 rule2 rule3}.

what is the best way to promote a website on your own subreddit?

It all depends on what the subreddit is about. If your sub has more than about 5000 real subscribers, you'll most likely need to be creative when you promote the site. It only takes one person to shoot off a message to the admins and you could be screwed. It might not happen immediately, it might take weeks or even months, but if the Reddit "anti-evil" team sees that you're trying to make money off of the subreddit, they'll likely ban your account and possibly the sub as well.

What about put website link on the banner or the description?
Is it risk?

It depends on the subreddit. If you're being overt about it, the subreddit can't be very big or else it's going to get sent to the admins. The best performing subreddit I ever created only had my link posted as a comment from accounts which didn't look like they belonged to me. After making 5 figures with it and taking every possible step I could conceivably take to keep things covert, I had the account which created the sub, as well as about 20 other accounts, nuked. That was only after about 8000 subscribers.

There are multiple ways depending on niche and how inclined are your visitors to report you.

You can make a sticky post. Probably the safest route.
You can put your link in the menu or on the sidebar (list, links, text, image).
You can make the automoderator automatically post a comment with your link on each new post made.
You can use the settings so that every new subscriber gets a welcoming message... including your link.

Each one can work safely and look natural in certain cases.

these ways definitely not safe, I believe your subreddit will banned soon with these methods

What you believe and what is real, aren't the same things.

I am using all of the above options on tons of subs in multiple niches... for years.

And sure, the shittier the website/product/service it is, the harder it is to promote it... safely.

*Start by commenting on other post
*Find sub Reddit in your niche
*Learn the rules of relevant sub Reddit
*Ask admins to post your link
*Run a giveaway
*Ask friends to up vote your post
*Analyze posts in your sub Reddit
*Use Reddit analytics tools
*Create a few accounts
*Comment on top submissions
*Don't add hyperlink to your text

Maybe promote your site in the sidebar and create a pinned post for it.

Being subtle
Using auto mod code
Managing soft multiple subreddit
Sticky posts
Side bar banners

They should really work :)
