We had quite some success lately by simply optimizing these things on Google My Business for several clients and ourselves:

1. Get as many real reviews as possible
2. Upload real photos of real people
3. Same with video if possible
4. Ask natural questions with keywords in them and then answer those questions as owner.
5. Fill out all services and opening hours etc. Basically get a full profile.
6. Include your most important keyword in your listing business name if it looks natural (like "flower store" after your name)

Does it work similar for Apple maps, thought there might be a different apporach
