Here is the situation. I basically want to accomplish two things. First taxes. Second, I live in a country where eft (bank deposits) are not available with any of the affiliate companies I work with (adsense, clickbank, etc...). Therefor I want a bank account in a country where this is possible, preferably a swiss one. With a bank account I then get a debit card and I can get the funds in a few days from requesting it from these affiliate companies. Now, I wait for the check to be delivered first and then the banks to clear them which takes a minimum of one month. This is not manageable anymore, so I need to change the payment method to a foreign bank. I would like to open it from my location (online, fax, email, phone, mail), with no personal trips to that country. Then I will need to change the details in all these accounts. Most accounts won't be a problem, except adsense maybe. In adsense the country field is not available for editing, but I've read you can add a foreign bank account. Anyone has experience in this?

I've spent a few hours researching this matter, but I always find contradicting information. Some say there need to be minimum deposits of many thousand dollars when opening a swiss bank account, the other say there's no minimum deposit. Some say they had a lot of trouble getting the money out, which sounds plausible since banks need money, otherwise why would they have you as a client? If anyone has any first hand experience I would love to hear it. Also any tips or traps info is greatly appreciated. I need the bank account within a month.

    which country you are from?

you can normally open a bank account by phone and mail but you need some offical papers and you have to send them per mail...just phone a swiss bank and ask them.

For avoiding taxes, use an account out of Argentina. The Swiss have totally rolled over with the War on Terror and your money is no longer safe there or in the Bahamas. Plus, if you get yourself in a royal mess up, Argentina is a non-extraditing country, is a beautiful place to live, and you will have access to your money.

Got a Masters in Intelligence Analysis with a focus on Terrorism Studies. Trust me, Argentina is the way to go.

    Country is Slovenia, Europe.

I probably wouldn't mind living in Argentina if there's a "royal mess up". However most affiliate companies don't support bank transfers to this location. For example adsense supports these countries:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United States, United Kingdom.

The country in which I will open an account needs to support bank transfers. And reasonable fees for everything. This is my major concern. Taxes are only a bonus.

Cayman and Panama are good, supposedly. I saw one online site for a Cayman Island bank account opening service but you needed to mail them some info like a passport and a letter of reference from your current bank.

Andorra is a country on its own. As you see above, I need to be able to make bank transfers DIRECTLY from the affiliate companies and Andorra is not supported. That is the whole point. I need DIRECT DEPOSITS. With andorra, cyprus, panama, cayman I don't see how these are possible if affiliate companies don't support them. Am I missing something?

As a non-resident, non-citizen, U.S. would be your best choice.

lol IIRC, the only way to open a swiss bank account would be with lots and lots of money, but that was before the "war" on "terror"

Why dont you open up an account in one of the supported countries and then transfer the funds to another account one of the "haven" countries?

I've explored this possibility before and have now decided that indeed this is probably my best choice. Now lets say I already have this bank account... How do I get my adsense funds to this account? My adsense is registered in my country for many years and the options for this country don't allow bank transfers.

I would like to keep this account since it has a good history attached to it, but how do I get the possibility to get my funds deposited into the US bank account?

I'd love to hear some guidance from someone who has done this and has first hand experience.

Didn't Argentina just suffer a currency crisis a few years ago? What good is a bank account when the value of your money gets slashed 80% overnight?
