Several months ago I was promoting a few porn sites pretty heavily on Reddit, they were clean sites however I may have posted them a bit too much as the accounts I used were all banned after around 3 months and the domain names appear to be banned as well.

Creating a new site and moving the existing one over is out of the question as I rank #1 for a few highly sought after keywords, but I am curious as to if there is any way I can possibly still promote on reddit? My posts almost always got 30-200 upvotes so the quality was there, but like I said I may have just posted them too much.

Would masking the domain name work?

    Thanks guys.

When I was doing this around 5 months ago I was making sure to post once a day to maybe 4-5 subreddits, all were relevant to whatever it was I was posting. Eventually I guess someone found out I was making money doing this and banned the domain, even though it was always upvoted :(

I have a way around this - although some subreddits don't allow it. PM me if you'd like, I don't think I should post it publicly :)

hmmm.. how much traffic you were getting? .. my experience shows that 1 well written link in a decent (laser targeted and relevant) sub will generate 1-1.5k/day for 2-3 days in average..

what did you manage to squeeze out?

This is about what I was receiving on average, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less depending on the amount of active subscribers on the subs I would post on.

I'm pretty sure reddit does not allow any type of link shortening services, and my redirect attempts thus far have failed.

Your best bet might be to try and use a web 2.0 site as a landing page... (or register another domain as a landing page.) I agree that re-directs don't work for reddit. But, have you tried a 10 second redirect? Like what I believe Forbes does, and some other news websites?

    Hey Troshi,

That is an interesting an idea and might be worth a shot.

My only concern would be with subreddit mods not liking it. They tend to prefer links that go directly to the content and adding a 10 second redirect might piss them off and also send off a red flag that it might be spam...even if its a quality submission.

I'll have to test and play around with it a bit.

Did you launder the links by posting links to other sites, and did you engage in any discussions?

Do redirects really not work? Did you try a javascript redirect (vs. a php/.htaccess/301/)

I tried to diversify my submissions as much as possible. Usually following this format

    1 imgur link
    1 link to MY website
1 link to a pornhub video.

This was a decent mix for almost 4 months until I woke up and my 3 accounts were banned.

Probably should add more links to different sites and alot more comments. Under your format, it looks pretty high at 16% of all your postings on reddit
