Basically i have a website that streams live sports and it gets 5-10,000 viewers at any one time. I would like to know how i can go about making money off this. One of the problems is sometimes the video is embedded from justintv so they can just click on it to leave the site. I would like to have it where they cant leave the site. Also would like to have video ads play before you can watch a clip or something.

Any ideas on what and how i should go about monetizing the traffic? The traffic i get is very targeted aswell as they are all sports fans.

Also does anyone know if BHCB would work with justintv videos?

Put a gateway on the site. Make it pop up before it plays. About to play or even a few minutes into the video.

Zango Cash (pinballpublishernetwork now called) would be best as you could say. Install this toolbar to make the video work :)

If you use Gateways or CPA your site will probably lose a lot of visitors, I would say sell Video ad space or normal ad space, or CPA banners, I get paid 40$ (A month) for 2 150x150 ads on my website which gets 70UVs a day, you do the maths ;)

Is it possible to do a lowres version for free, and have them do an offer for a highres version?

@zen19-i dont think thats possible the way i currently broadcast.

@ruleroffall- Can you suggest any sites where i can sell ad space?

Thanks for the replies. As far as blackhat goes, all i am good at is craigslist so all the CPA, zango etc is pretty new to me. If anyone would be interested in possibly doing some kinda profitshare/jv to help me setup they can pm me. The edge i have over other people is my streams are Very High Quality so people pick mine over others available. I think with offers i might lose people but they wouldnt have a problem watching a video ad before getting to see the game.

Im not even a member of any CPA networks right now and the fact that the sports are all copyrighted, how would that affect things? Also considering setting it up members only and charging like $2 a month, but people want things for free so that might backfire on me.

@stephen91: No me finding that ad space renter was just pure luck.

Or u could use a system like veoh or megavideo saying that the video will be stopped if they don't signup to an offer or don't buy a premium account or something like that... I think it's a good idea... What do u think??

if you want to be really black hat, you could make everyone sign up for a free account with your site and in the signup page 1 have an iframed email submit (rotate a hundred different email submits spread across multiple networks and change em regularly - plenty of info for this on the forum, and you can outsource the creation of the dmr'd iframes to save yourself the effort) and then after they submit take them to page two which says "re-enter your email address" and actually sign them up for real.

job done.

You can try to show relevant banners about CPA offers related to video/TV; I suggest "Digital TV for PC", many affiliate networks have this offer and generally they paid $20/sale

Locking access to your site is best for this type of thing... basically people will just have to fill out a small email submit or something to gain access to all of your streaming... your users will quickly get used to it and won't mind spending 20 seconds on it each time they visit your site... you could lock every single page, meaning they would have to do it everytime they wanna watch anything, but I think that'd be too much and you'd lose viewers..

anyways you can find out how to use BHCB and rotate offers as well as fake the referer at the same time in my other post here: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...vise-monitizing-tv-show-site.html#post1152206
