Hello, I have lots of football niche Facebook pages and I use them to post viral articles from my Football site, using that method I can have 30-50k visits daily, I am currently using adsense, but the adsense is paying me really low ($1 rpm), I don't know what is the problem, maybe the structure or something less, all of the visits are real, could someone please help me monetizing better my site? I can pay you if your help works, I may be interested in selling ads (pop ups, pop unders) too.

    Thanks.

I am working with adsense for years now, some months ago the rpm was much better, something like $5, but a couple of months ago drastically decreased and now I don't know what to do to increase it.

To be honest this niche is pretty hard to monetize. If I was you, i would simply stick with Adsense and do something with clickbank e-business products, as these products convert well on all kinds of traffic quality.

football traffic mostly comes from 3rd world countries i guess, specially arab countries and maybe some europian countries if you're lucky. do you do live matcg broadcasts? if so putting overlay ads on the videos can be profitable, also adding play now ad buttons and popups & popunders.. even though its spammy but poeple can bear with it if they're going to watch the games for free

thats really great traffic bro...maybe you must analyze your traffic stats first if you monetize it with adsense..$1 rpm is very very low..or better selling popunder ads

There's a football website called 90min, they used to pay around $6 for 1k visits via their affiliate program. I can hook you up with the owner if you want to give it a shot.

If you have already tried moving your adsense ad placement around on your site and still have those poor numbers, odds are this is not a good group for adsense.

I'm guessing that by football you mean what Americans call soccer and if that is the case that can be a rabid fan group and that is a good thing.

Provided that your demographic is of legal age (mainly adults) I would be trying a pop up after just a few seconds offering jerseys for sale. You use a hook that the prices are discounted for the next X amount of people that buy.

I would surely be using a pop up of some sort, not an el cheapo free one either, and I would be selling a product to that crowd either direct like above or by grabbing their emails and having them opt in (don't use a free/el cheapo service for that either) and marketing to them over and over again.

We usually think of adsense as grabbing low hanging fruit but in your case it is not giving you anywhere near the bang for your buck if you have tried other ad location placements on your site and it is still not performing.

Actually I have done that before and was making 20-30 eur per day with only that, but I simply have posted a banner telling that I was selling shirts, but I was selling that shirts for only 35 eur when a original one cost 85 eur (I had a dropshipper doing 100% same shirts as the original ones), but that was a dangerous method because all the traffic comes from my country (Portugal) and we are a really small country, and I actually received a e-mail from one of representatives of Benfica (the biggest club in Portugal) to stop selling that shirts. So I don't know if this method will work without long term disadvantages.

I would not sell knock offs for sure, especially if you got a notification from those that own the original/legit product.

I would bet you could operate as an affiliate with someone that sells them with all the licensing and permissions required and do the pop up or email thing.

If it was me, I'm doing the email grabbing as you can then market to them a dozen times a variety of products and hit them harder at times when there are events like the World Cup etc as people go bananas when it comes to supporting their teams.

    1) Visitor comes to site
    2) Starts reading
    3) 5 seconds in a pop up shows up saying something like, "Hey! enter your email here and we'll let you know when a new article is posted and also send you discounts on Football Jerseys for your favorite team!" That may be a little verbose but I would have to play with it in the pop up window to see but that is the idea... get their email with a promise to send them something of value.
    4) Send them a welcome email instantly with no links.
    5) Then market them every 7 - 10 days or so.

If you are putting out content every day, you do not want to email them every day or they will ignore the emails (become email blind) so maybe a weekly mail out with some highlights or titles of articles and a link to the "Football Deal of the Week" which would be your money opportunity.

BTW, I've never been to Portugal but I hear is it very nice there.

That is actually a great idea, I will try it and post the results here after I colect some e-mails. Yes, Portugal is a great country and I hope live here for long time :D

That's a nice traffic you have there Alex!

If this is football (soccer), than most of your visitors are gamblers. Because most people watching sports are also betting on sports a lot!

Find some good online casinos that allow sports betting and put some banners with real time changing betting odds. I've seen some of them pay $500 per signup!

Also find some betting systems on Clickbank that sell monthly recurring memberships and put some of those banners on your website too. Arbitrage systems are doing pretty well.

Use exit popups, collect emails than promote betting systems, put floating banners... With all the traffic you have, you could make some good money with this.

    Good luck!

That was my first goal after the Adsense started to pay me lower rpm. But because of the new laws in Portugal, almost all sports betting houses stopped to work in Portugal, so that method unfortunately won't work. :(

Most of them not, our government have done new laws for Sports Betting, so what we have now it's Placard, a sports betting game like the lottery that the government have done that can be played at kiosks, etc. It's 100% offline, and the people here are betting more than ever, it's so stupid, the odds are ridiculous. Anyway, there are some online casinos avaiable for Portugal (no Sports Betting), but because of all this problems they are not offering CPA deals.

    That's fucked up man! :/

But there are still casinos out there that accept bettors from Portugal.

I know that in the USA sports betting or any type of gambling is not allowed too, but there are a LOT of casinos out there accepting US players. They are located offshore, in some small island where US and Portugal and other countries laws don't apply. It is like if you are there in that country playing in the casino.

Search for "usa sports betting online" in Google and you will find a lot of online casinos accepting players from Portugal. Most of the casinos that accept players from the USA, accept Portugal and othere countries where gambling is forbided.

The biggest one is Winner. The affiliate side of it is ran by NetHive. And there are many others: BetOnline, TopBet, MyBookie, BetDSI, GTbets, SportsBetting, SportBet, RealBet ...

Most of them have great affiliate programs.

Also try the Bitcoin and other digital currencies casinos out there. They accept everybody.

Since your traffic seems to be of good quality and you know your demographics well , here are somethings you can do (supplementary to what @BassTrackerBoats has said) , most of them are for moving on forward and setting your domain name as a brand ..

    - If your website does not look professional or catchy , then improve it , but dont overdo it.
    - Add a free wallpapers section with a few exclusive wallpapers every few days - You could also , send the same wallpapers in users weekly emails and also tryout Taboola or Revcontent in between those wallpapers
    - Add polls/voting to your website , so people will get used to filling legit surveys and later on when you actually serve them paid for survey's they will be more inclined to filling them up.

BTW , i love how enthusiastic you are about this.
