I'm creating a local directory blog and I need ideas on the best way to monetize such directory. The directory is a simple database of name, address, phone, and website. Would appreciate help from the experts. TIA.

Well if your directory has a submit page where users can submit their local businesses etc. then you could always do premium directory listings at say $9.99 a listing for the year or something so its a submission / subscription. Then if you had 100 people sign up for this then your directory would be making $1k a year and with that you could focus on bringing more traffic to the directory by SEO, FB, etc.

Thank you MMMP for your reply. What I had in mind is a database directory that 's scraped from the yellow pages, and then monetized with, say, adsense or CPA. I just wanted to know which of these two are more suitable to this kind of directory, and if there are other similar monetization methods.
