NOTE: This mini tutorial applies to user who have 60K+ followers on their account. If you have below 60K, go ahead an mass unfollow/follow using "Tweepi". That's a good way to do it without getting banned. Once you've hit the 60K Tweepi limit, come back here and read again.

    Things you'll need:

    1. Firefox Browser
    2. iMacros installed

    Yea that's all!

    PART 1: Unfollowing

Log into your Twitter account first, then open up "Manageflitter". Now, if you have 60K+ followers, it's going to take 12 minutes or so load everything, so this is the only annoying part of all this. Leave it to load and go do something else. You can even tell it to DM you when it's done (or keep checking back).

Once it's loaded, it will (by default) show you the list of people who have not followed you back. At the top of that page, there is a "select all" button. Click it. Once everything is selected you will see a button on the right labeled "Unfollow XXX later" XXX being the number of unfollowers - click it! Then click on "Manually Process" above it - Click that. A new page will list all the unfollowers with an "unfollow" button next to each one.

Open your iMacros panel and insert the following code into your "current.iim" - to do that, simply highlight the file, click the "Edit" tab then "Edit Macro". Copy this code:

    Code:
    TAG POS=1 TYPE=BUTTON ATTR=TXT:Unfollow
Paste into the macro editor then click "Save & Close". Now, say you have 645 unfollowers - just put 645 as the loop number and click "Play (Loop)" - Sit back and watch them disappear. Now, I know this seems complicated for some, but it's really not that difficult.

    PART 2: Following

So far we've removed the unfollowers. Now we want to mass follow a bunch of people either from a specific niche or from a followback list. I cannot give you these (or I just can't be bothered to do the work for you) so find your own list of people to follow. By list, I don't mean one of those lists you can create, no. I mean find an account whose followers you want to follow. When you find that account. Click on "Followers" then keep you finger on the "End" key on your keyboard. You want to load as many as possible so that the macro doesn't fail. A minute or two should load over a thousand followers for you to follow (depending on your internet connection).

Ok cool. Now we have a thousand or so ready to be followed.

NOTE: Be careful with Twitter limits here. I am assuming that if you have been following/unfollowing for a long while (i.e. you have 60K+) you have been on Twitter long enough to not get banned after following 1,000 followers. I usual do this every other day without getting banned (it's also enough time for people to follow me back).

    Now copy the following code:

    Code:
    SET !ERRORIGNORE YES
    SET !LOOP 2
    TAG POS={{!LOOP}} TYPE=BUTTON ATTR=TXT:Follow<SP>Following<SP>Unfollow<SP>Blocked<SP>Unblock<SP>Pen*
    WAIT SECONDS=0

Now paste it into the macro editor (as explained above). Now in the Loop counter you can be as creative as you want to be. You might only want to follow 500 from this list, 250 from another list and a final 250 from a third list. Whatever you like. Rinse & Repeat.

Why not just use an autoclicker? It'd make things so much easier. And this won't allow you to elude the 1,000 follow limit, correct?

Because I already have macros to do all this. Sure an autoclicker is another way to do it, but I'm using what I have. In anycase, the time consuming part is waiting for manageflitter to load, otherwise I have no problems doing this with a Macro.

Regarding the 1,000 follow limit. I cannot avoid it. I stick to that limit just to be on the safe side.

It's because the macro is just going down the list. So I would suggest you find a list which you have not follow yet or has enough unfollowed buttons available to be clicked without running into people you already follow (if that makes sense).

I know this is completely make-shift, but I can't find a simple clean way (like tweepi) to do all this.

I think it's better to buy dedicated bot for this than playing with imacros

Macros are a great alternative, besides, bot makers want too much money!

Why pay for something that you can do yourself? That's lazy....But some people dont have the time and i would suggest to buy a bot if they dont have the time!

Agreed! I'm sure there are millions of bots that do this work, but this is my method and it's free, so I'm just putting it out there!

If they have time to be here, they have time to run a macro. But, I agree with doing things myself if I can do them.
