I'm using OGads to content lock my site right now but what I don't like is how little gets converted or how most my viewers are from US and yet barely have conversions, total so far I've gotten a little over 300 conversions but with only a 12.8% CVR, alot of the offers done by people using my site only pay 5 cents, I would much rather CPM, CPA is paying me about the same as CPM because only 12.8% of people are converting and actually getting through. 100,000 CPM views vs 12,800 CPA converts (mostly paying 5 cents)
I should be able to use both CPM and CPA though, just don't know any decent-paying ad networks that'll accept me, currently using popads which was paying bit under $1 a day but has dropped since content locker currently overlays website, I know I can create a locker that doesn't overlay on my website and on it's own site but I feel most viewers will just dismiss it as an ad, unless I could make the content locker up custom with my channel logo and explaining how the locker works

Site still has very limited games on it while im working towards a solid foundation for what ad networks to use and all that
So you are sending people from YouTube to your site and locking the download?
I've done pretty good with this myself, basically what I do in my system in steps is.
Let's say for example I am creating a niche around Sims 4.
1) Download sims game torrents and test them on my pc to see if they work.
2) Find the one that works and save the torrent file (not the game files).
3) Uninstall the working Sims 4 game from my pc.
4) Set up a blog page about Sims 4 and lock the download button for the torrent file.
5) Screen record myself going through every step to get the game which would be like this:
5a) Download and install uTorrent, explain a little and why we need it.
5b) Visit my new Sims 4 blog post, click the download button and complete an offer until the torrent file is unlocked and downloads. Explain that it costs a lot to run a site and keep all these links updated and games tested and working.
5c) Open the torrent file and get it downloading in uTorrent. Explain a bit about how torrent downloads work and what's happening.
5d) Open the finished download folder and install the Sims 4 game and start it up so that they can see it working.
So as you can see with my set up everything they will be doing is covered in the video, they even see the exact page on my blog that they will land on.
They see that they will be doing a survey or downloading an app to unlock the file.
Literally everything they will need to do is recorded and set up exactly how it will look for them.
Doing it this way there is absolutely zero disconnect within the process. It will probably drop your impressions a lot with people who don't want to complete an offer after watching your video.
But that means virtually everyone who clicks through really wants the game and are happy to follow every step you have in your video.
Your clicks to conversions should be much higher, if you are doing exactly as I have just explained above.
You could even force everyone to complete 2 offers, also which is going to double your earnings.
If those are your stats from setting something up exactly as I've just explained about how I set my videos up I'd be looking into other areas of your process and testing them.
My first would be to test another CPA network because a simple switch could be all that is needed.
Set up an identical page on your blog and add the new network, then use your current page with ogads and new page with maybe cpalead.
Add them in a link rotator and use the link rotator as the link in your video. Send 1000 clicks to each page and see which converts better.
I don't really have any info to help with cpm because I'm pretty much a CPA guy haha
If anything is unclear above, just leave a reply and I'll help out, it's early morning and I'm still half asleep.
Hope this helps buddy.
