This is something I want to get into, but I am confused about how it works.. and people make money from it. In my town, online classifieds on FB are really popular, and I was wanting to take advantage of it by listing houses that link to my website.. but I don't know how to monetize it. I know sites like zillow have affiliate programs, and there are lead programs.. but do they pay when you buy.. or sign up for their "account"? It's just all confusing right now... I am not a newbie to building websites or anything, I'm just wondering what's the best course of action to monetize this way, and was wondering if anyone had any experience or success in this field? Thanks

Right now Zillow offers a CPC affiliate program where the pay a flat fee of $0.12 USD per click on any creative that goes through to Zillow services/listings.

Even though this rate is low it is probably one of the best in the market right now as there are very few ways to directly monetize real estate; and if you created a website that was only Zillow listings and a user was to click through a few houses (as no one shopping for houses looks through just one) it can quickly add up. If you have 10 listings that people look at then you'd be generating $1.12 USD per visitor, a great rate!

    On top of my head...

1.If you are from the US find a credit report offer and suggest to people that the owner of the property requires the candidates to fill one as a prescreening measure.

    2. Properly blended adsense/chitika or whatever ppc network tickles your fancy

    3. Content locking could work with a proper bait and switch

    4. Partner with a local realtor get the leads via email phone and forward em to them.

I like both the Zillow affiliate and credit report CPA ideas.. How hard is it to get accepted by Zillow though? It looks like you need a website and I don't even have mine built yet. This is still just an idea I've been tossing around

You do need a website but then you go through Commission Junction so its fairly easy to get accepted

Szype would it be too much to see your website so I could see how its structured or would that be conflict of interest? My plan is to only do local listings.. I'm in us Arizona

Our local real estate websites take money for adding extra photos and adding special functions to your advert. For example different text color and other things that make it more visible.

Place some banners from local ad exchanges and easily monetize them with premium monthly payments and continue to sell to competitors of theirs to make the pricing and value of the site increase over time as they slowly send traffic from local demographically enthusiasts as well as additional philanthropic publicity.
